[Mental Health Awareness Month]

This is Kenji Yasutake from my manga “Kisara’s Moon” He is a 17 year old boy who moved from Japan with his mom when he was very young. Ever since he was young, his mother has never shown him any affection. He does not know why she hates him. He’s always been afraid to ask. She leaves for months and leaves him by himself to take care of the house while she is away on what she calls “business trips” Despite how she treats him, he is always happy to see her when she return yet…she never wants to speak to him. Kenji goes through a lot mentally through my story. He only seems to be happy when he’s around Kisara and of course when he returns home to see his cat Jupiter.

You never know what someone is going through whether it be a friend or a family member. Never judge and never assume you know what someone is feeling. You don’t know and will not know until you reach out to ask them. They shouldn’t always have to be the one to reach out to you to talk. Sometimes, just taking is all a person needs to feel safe and to bring them out of whatever darkness was looming over them. Be kind. Talk to your friends and family ❤️
