SO GUESS WHO'S OFF HIATUSThis 4koma literally described my fangirl life for the last month or so. Since Winter Soldier... oh gosh, it's just ruined my life.
Every single time I come across anything Captain America I just have the instinct to tear up because. BUCKY OF COURSE OH MY GOSH
FEELS. EVERYWHERE. TEARS. EVERYWHERE. UGH.
It also came as a (delightful?) surprise to me that the character of the Winter Soldier is actually a very recent addition, (2006) so I scouted down his first comic appearance - Ed Brubaker's run of Captain America. And the feels. Lovingly written.
I really do recommend reading it but be warned it's feels heavy and pretty intensive... and parts are very different from the cinematic-verse, so there's that to get used to as well--
Just seeing Bucky deny Steve again and again just really hurt. A lot. Not to mention the mental dialogue of the two it's just really heartbreaking ;A;
AND JUST WHAT HAPPENS AFTER... IT'S LIKELY MARVEL'S GONNA FOLLOW UP ON THIS PLOTLINE FOR THE CINEMATIC VERSE AND IM SITTING HERE CRYING OVER IT AGAIN BECAUSE I DONT WANT IT TO GO DOWN EXACTLY LIKE THAT. THERE ARE THINGS I DONT WANT SOLIDIFIED/CANON'D IN THE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE. J-JUST LET ME LIVE IN THE POSITIVITY THAT IS POST-WINTER SOLDIER FANCOMICS THANKS...

It's really ruined me for watching the first Cap movie just I pretty much cried whenever the two were on screen together and just afterwards when Bucky's gone and Steve goes on a rampage UGH MY KOKORO HELP
I don't know if anyone else has had such a (violent?) reaction to Bucky and the Winter Soldier... I knew next to nothing about Cap's universe going in to watch it that day and UGHHH IT WAS WRITTEN SO WELL AND UGHHHH

I also thought i would be over that by now but every time i recall the exact same thing!
That was like the most painful highlight of that movie uuuugghhh. Tear jerker!
I couldn't even begin to describe how awful that must have been for poor Steve. And poor BuckyΒ too // weeps >_<

just the flux of emotions in the comics though, like when Steve finally gets on the tail of Bucky's travels through towns and stuff he's just over the moon. he's smiling, he's so ecstatic that he's willing to give love another go with a girlfriend that didn't work out HE WAS SO FRICKING HAPPY--
and Bucky just when he remembers everything, he's crying to Steve about why he didn't just kill him because he's so ashamed of what he did as the Winter Soldier and and and and tearing apart a bar because some patrons bagged a news report about Steve on TV and Bucky wasn't gonna let them diss Steve like that and just feeling like Steve would be ashamed of his actions and crying over it and -- I CANT
