Description Oh gosh I put a lot of effort in the coloration of this one ;_; Especially the shadows and light effects. But I really like how it turn out.

This was my team right before going against Cynthia in my Nuzlocke Platinum. It was also the first time I was playing through that game. No need to say I often went on Bulbapedia during this run

Even though I documented it and had a story for it, I've decided to only do a drawing out of it instead of a comic. Mostly because by the time I would been over with the Silver Run, I don't know if I would have the motivation to do it in the end.

I had a few additionnal rules outside the two basic ones:
- Set Mode on
- Dupe clause on
- I was limited on the number of 'mons I could used against my rival, the gym leaders and Team Galatic Commanders according to the number they had in the party. So, if a gym leader has three pokemons, only three of my pokemons could entered in the battle.

As for the team, we have (in order they were caught):

Aster the Naive Togekiss
(Air Slash, Ancient Power, Light Screen, Reflect)

Noah the Adamant Gallade
(Psycho Cut, Drain Punch, Leaf Blade, Lucky Chant)

Mia the Impish Azumarill
(Toxic, Double Team, Waterfall, Grass Knot)

Shannon the Relaxed Magmortar
(Flamethrower, Fire Punch, Earthquake, Confuse Ray)

Isis the Naughty Weavile
(Ice Punch, Night Slash, Protect, Dig)

Also, you may have noticed that there is one member missing. I lost Myrna, my Torterra to Bertha's Rhyperior (completly forgot that thing knew Megahorn ). She wasn't the only member I lost during that final step. Noah, the Gallade, fell under Cynthia's Garchomp. I needed to heal Isis, the Weavile, to full HP because her held item was Focus Sash (just in case Garchomp would have outspeeded her). So, Noah, who was the one out became a sacrifice... At least, it wasn't in vain. Isis was the quickest and OHKO Garchomp with Ice Punch and thus, leading us to victory after 91 hours of gameplay.

I wouldn't mess with any of them if I were you. Even Mia the Azumarill.Β

Back to Shannon though, I discovered the Magmar line with her and it's now my second favorite Fire type line. I never imagine her as sassy though. In fact, provokation isn't her style. She doesn't impose herself, she just follow the flow. Whenever I used her in battle, she usually had a good timing when activiting her Flame Body ability. And she would be more the kind to friendly warning a foe with a pure innocent smile. Of course, that smile erase from her face when things get serious.

Ffff, saw this when I was looking through your gallery to read your nuzlocke and forgot to comment. OTL

You have some SERIOUS art skills! The pose you drew the character and his pokemon in is AMAZING! *O* It definitely says, "We're coming, so you better be ready!"
I love the shading too! It's just so... amazing! Can I touch it?

I'm still learning ^^ but thanks for the compliment.

Actually, the individual pose is simple for most of them What helps is the fact they are close, in a circle formation and that Shannon is the only source of light which gives this serious atmosphere.

I put two shadows layers instead of one like I would usually do. Mostly to add more volume and contrast. I use the smudge tool to smooth the edges and "shape" the forms. I won't hide that I did play a lot in Photoshop to obtain this.

Haha, you're welcome! And it's ok if you're still learning; that only means you'll get better. C=

Yeah, I completely agree with you. XD I forgot to mention the light thing, but you're right. If it hadn't been for that, it wouldn't have looked the same.

Interesting. I use two layers for shading too, but I rely mostly on the blur tool. XD I think experimenting is the best way to improve. Mostly since that's how you know what works and what doesn't work. I need to start experimenting some more.

Adding a blend mode is useful too. Especially with light and shadow layers. I also play a bit more with the filters to give textures. The soil is one example. I still need to find my way with the different brushes

And of course, I check other tutorials or watch inspiring artists like who does landscapes and sometimes records video of her process.

P.S. By the way, thanks for watching I forgot to say it last time

I guess I would have been pretty screwed if I didn't have a quick ice type like my Weavile.

Rrgh, that Garchomp's bound to kill somebody. But Cynthia's still my fav. Champion, being so tough actually among the reasons - a win against her is a hard-fought, worthy victory.

Congrats on winning, but now I am having a goal. Beat Platinum, with no deaths...in half the time...without grinding. Yes...I have insanity.

Will you be finishing the comic? Can't wait to see it if you are.

Cynthia was nice to battle, though I didn't saw how fast I was coming to her last Pokemon xD I mean, Isis took down Spiritomb with two Night Slashes (the last hit being a Crit), Noah took quickly care of Lucario with one Drain Punch. Next, it was Tokegiss against Togekiss (Light Screen with Light Clay equiped on Aster helped a lot ). After that, Mia litteraly trolled Milotic by spamming Double Team and badly poisoned it xD. Noah came back to cast a Lucky Chant on the party before defeating Roserade with Psycho Cut. And then Garchomp took him down before being OHKO by Isis' Ice Punch.

I'm working on my Silver Run comic, but I'm a bit of slowpoke xD I wish I would be able to work full time on it so I could have put my Platinum run into a comic form. But I planned to finish my current run comic.

That's actually pretty funny. In my Emerald, Wallace's Milotic used Toxic on one of my blokes. That was ridiculous; that Milotic was his only real threat. [shrug] but that's a tale I'm saving for my Nuzlocke.

I've got it all laid out, see. I'm planning on running all the Generations as one epic. In this order: Emerald, Platinum, Soulsilver, and Black. With Firered thrown in the middle as backstory. I'm calling the entire project..."Coercitor de Fatis" (Latin for "Enforcer of Destiny"). Emerald's already finished...just gotta write it in all of its 65-chapter glory.

Good luck with yours, too!

Sad thing, Steven seems more like a challenge than Wallace. Out of Gen3, I only have Emerald and I'm not a fan of Nuzlocking on an Emulator orz. I'll probably buy that Ruby cartridge I spotted in an old video games store. I wish I could find a FR or LG cartridge too.

Wow Good luck with that big project of yours. I don't think I would ever planned that much ahead. I let the way my run goes decided on the story. Though, toward the end of my Platinum run I did have plans to link it with another game because of the trainer's main goal : gaining enough money to meet his father who lives in another region. Not to mention I would have used a Marill as my starter because I shipped Mia with Aster Oh well! I put this in my backstore of ideas.

Totally. It's worth mentioning that he used Toxic on my sceptile. Doesn't it know Ice Beam or something? I was so dissapointed that Steven had been replaced by Wallace that I started over just so I could go all the way and crush him to make a point. Probably the only time I grinded.

Thanks!
