Me and my best friend in rl have been working on making an anime club in our local area since we've never had one. Hopefully to help meet other people who are into anime since it's so hard to find people in our local area who are. We're calling it Otaku anime, with our town's name mentioned.My dad has this building to let us use. He has it so that people can pay to hold meetings and parties there and random stuff like that. We just get to use it for free since I'm his son.
Plan to have meetings there, and watch anime and stuff. We have'nt got it started yet, but slowly working on it when time allows us to.So anyway, about the drawing. While we was there one night, I drew Ku'Treno sitting there, saying "Otaku?" Apparently it means anime fan, or has something to do with it. Anyway, it's something cute. Enjoy.

Otaku is the Japanese Equivalent of "Fanboy" or "Fangirl." However, the true bold and ballsy anime fans now wear that name not as an insult but as a banner of pride.

Sort of. It was coined from the excessively polite speech early Japanese otaku were in the habit of using in the early 80s, and became an insult when some guy who was an otaku kidnapped and murdered some girls. The Densha Otoko phenomenon has helped make it less of an insult, but it's still not a great thing to be called in Japanese.
As an English-language loanword it just means "anime fan."
