*Both grew up with missing parental figures so they had to live with a relative for the time being
*Had friends who were wealthier and had dead fathers
*Gained powers after something pierced their bodies and said object can give others powers, the thing that gave them powers also came from the rich friend(In some stories the spider was made by Oscorp and the Stone Mask was in Jonathan’s possession at the time)
*Both gained an amazing boost in power(For DIO, it was the result of being pierced with the space-originated Stand Arrow, finally granting him; [THE WORLD] and For Spider-man, it came when his costume was worn and tattered after fighting on Battleworld. After being directed to what he thought to be a suit-making machine, Spider-Man accidentally donned the amazing Black Suit.)
*In a way, both characters are the biological, yet unintentional fathers to characters very iconic to their series. Giorno is DIO’s biological but illegitimate son, and the symbiote, after becoming Venom and detaching from Peter, gave way to the Carnage symbiote.
*Both have a weakness to a natural element that, if used against them, is basically an instant win scenario. ( Sunlight & Fire, respectively)
*Although both sets of powers, as well as the appearances the characters have in the fight are from the 80s, they both debuted sometime before this upgrade. ( ‘87 and ‘62. Stardust Crusaders began in ‘89, and the Black Suit made its first appearance in ‘84. )
