So, bit of a story here:
2D, whilst hanging around Plastic Beach(since he has nothing better to do) happens to meet a mermaid. She had come to complain about Plastic Beach destroying the local marine habitat. Upon meeting 2D and hearing his story/predicament, she befriends him, allowing him a small bit of sane social interaction from his dismal room down in Plastic Beach's basement.

Now, safe and sound at 212 Wobble Street, 2D ponders his situation. From Phase 1 to Noodle's fake death, to the Plastic Beach, amoungst all of Murdoc's insanity, and now, living like normal in London. And what of the mermaid? He would never see her again, and all he had was a bracelet of pearls. What that enough to allow him to believe it was real? Or was it all just a part of his fearful, paranoid, sleep-deprived head while he was held at Plastic Beach?
