well thank you! ^^ i like to experiment with pencil the most so far, and i'm FAR better at coloring and shading than i am at sketching, for the most part, i think. lol. but it takes a lot of practice, and having a model for shading helps me sometimes too. lol i used to need a lot of help with shading, but i've improved a bit since then. it's hard to get it right, especially if there are multiple light sources. that's the thing i try and avoid. i can't shade with multiple light sources, it all ends up this horrible terrible mess, and i end up scrapping the picture. >.< lol. the best of luck with shading to you! ^^ i'm sure you're better than you think you are! ^^

Awww, what an adorable sketch of Link. The linework is good and I like the simplicity of the look and the shades. Because of this simplicity it makes the picture easy on the eyes and complete despite the headshot look. The eyes are so sweet and soothing looking. The only thing i would really work with or try to work with in this picture is different linewidths. If you vary the thinness along parts of the face it might push his face out in a much softer way as oppose to doing a heavy outline.
I also think i would help to push the shading a little to get darker tones under the neck and hat so that he'll pop out more. I'm normally pretty content with single simple shading, especially with colors, put I think this image would really benefit from a slight shading push. <3

thanks! i try really hard to bring life into my drawings. i dunno if it's working, but i think i'm getting better! before they looked like 2-d characters! sad, i know! but thank you! i'm glad you like it!
