"Ha? Me? Who am I? Who am I? I'm Jan Evans, mate. Remember that, 'cause sooner or later, I'm gonna be a big deal 'round these parts."

Arrogant, trash-talking, violent, foul mouthed, guitar playing guy with a childish personality, along with the wits and the strength to back up his claims? Jan Evans has it all.

He has a rather shocking personality, especially to those that are intimidated by his upfront and in-your-face approach. Jan absolutely loves to show off what he can do - for example, his guitar skills (which you can find him sometimes on the streets, playing a little jingle for some much needed money), or his fists (you would not want to get punched in the gut with those. Seriously.) You could often find him yapping his trap to anyone who would listen, and people would just indulge him. At the very least, he is a rather friendly person if you get on his good side, which is rather easy. Just give him a cup of brewed coffee, one milk, two sugars, and you will be his god or goddess for life.

Jan's main identifying feature, if not for the signature white beanie (that he stole from a poor sod that wandered into the slums during the wrong place at the wrong time), would be his voice. Not only is he a good guitar player, but he does have a good voice, of near rock star quality. (And it also seems that people seem to love his accent - that lovely, stereotypical Aussie accent of his.)

Having grown up in the "bad part" of town in Severstal, Jan has developed his sense of street smarts, and it definitely shows in his style of fighting, whether pokemon battle or one of those good ol' fist fights. He plays it dirty, not afraid of going the underhanded route to win his battle. After all, if you don't go for it, your opponent will, so it's way better to have the first shot. Of course, at the same time, Jan has some sort of honour; if this isn't a street scuffle, he'll play by the rules. Or, he'll try to.

Habits die hard.

Scoot the Scrafty

"Get off yer bloody ass, Scoot, or I'm gonna sell yer precious guitar!"

Just like his trainer, Scoot's a musician, often stealing Jan's guitar and playing it for himself. He's a coward, plain and simple, and he won't hesitate to run from a battle, especially if it's against a ghost pokemon. However, Scoot does have a short temper, and when he gets angry, hoo boy. He will completely forget his fear, and just charges in, straight on with guns ablazin'. Scoot has a real nasty Hi Jump Kick, which he also uses as an escape tactic. (That's why it's so strong, actually. Scoot trained himself with that one move so he could jump, kick, and flee right after that.)

Despite Scoot's cowardly approach to things, he is Jan's strongest pokemon. All Jan has to really do is either a. piss Scoot off (and Jan's good at that) or b. threaten to sell the guitar for a bit of pocket change.

That definitely gets Scoot off his tail.

Truckie the Larvitar

"Jus' keep trucking on, Truckie."

The most hard working on Jan's team, Truckie is aptly named, because he just keeps on trucking on. Truckie has refused to evolve repeatedly, believing that it wasn't the right time. Jan knew that Truckie was already passed the stage when normal Larvitars usually evolve around, but he never pressed on Truckie. He trusted the hard working pokemon, and if that's what Truckie wanted, then that's what Truckie would get. Truckie's a very independant - often, Jan would just leave him alone for the day to do whatever he wants, as long as he returns by the end of the day.

The goggles that seem to be permanently infused in his face was actually a gift from Jan, from their first meeting. Since then, Truckie has never taken it off.

Solly the Lairon

"Solly, ye great big idiot, look at the mess ye got us in now!"

Solly, a pokemon that can get a little over zealous about his current obsession. He refuses to sit still, and he definitely is as hard working as Truckie, but maybe not for the same reason. Solly is the kind of pokemon that likes to charge into things head on, literally, without thinking, which causes Jan a boatload of problems, especially when Solly decides to charge into a bunch of gangsters that roam the streets of his hometown. Sometimes, Jan has to physically stop Solly's blind charges, which often lands the poor trainer in the hospital more times than not, leaving poor Solly horrified when he finds out who exactly he bowled over.

Despite his over zealous temperment, Solly is fiercely loyal to Jan, and will do anything to protect him. (And realizing a little late that it's Solly himself that gets Jan into trouble.) It's rather heartwarming to see the heartbroken Lairon sitting patiently beside his trainer's bedside while in the hospital, refusing to move until Jan would wake up. And Jan would do the same thing for Solly. After all, these two had grown up together.
