Nevermore etc etc.After visiting the Tower of London a while ago I really wanted to paint one of these birds. So I did, with acrylics, all washy and flicky. Very fun and a nice change from working very precisely with small brushes in oils.
My dad wants to buy it and has asked me to paint a Puffin as a companion piece...which is to be much more cheerful.
Acrylics on board, about A3.

Thanks! It was difficult to get the balance between the detail and washes right, I think I managed it. I always get carried away with the details!

Thanks, it was fun to use acrylics again. I find them simpler to chuck around than oils (no turps!) and it was nice to do something a bit different.
