Oh wow... I saw this on a DD, and saw the face instantly, wondered if there were other faces. If you look closely, you see "her" then you see a shillouette of what seems to be a man. This is brilliantly done. I honestly love it. Every piece of it ^.^

Part of the reason behind the song was...it was a very tricky painting in terms of meaning, it flip floped around a lot. Orginally I was just doing a sketch, it was never going to be a painting at all. It was only the side of a face for weeks. Then I added in the wave and a lot of the other elements before desiding to scan it and mess aorund with it on photoshop (that old defaulted version is still somewhere hiding on my account).
Then I bought a really cheap opaque projector and I was honestly just looking for something to sketch onto a big canvas, and so I picked this.

I am really glad that you see that. I was incredably inspired by Clive Barker and all the magic of the Abarat. It's one of my favorite books.
People are very, "oh but it's a children's book!" and so it is. It is a WONDERFUL children's book.
