YAHOO i'm on a "i want to try different color palettes" binge since i was feeling a little stiff. this was interesting. next time i'll do something else haha. this guy has one piece of extra art, as well as a version with normal human-colored skin if you're not too big on the greyscale tone. it can be seen in their toyhou.se profile which is found > here <

STORY:

This burst of color was once a gray, unfinished - but beloved - personal project by an ambitious young artist. They'd waited patiently to be completed. Happily, even, because their master had chased a wonderful dream since childhood. To create comics for all the world to see and touch the hearts of many. After winning a competition for "Best Upcoming Comic Artist," they were given the opportunity to present their ideas in front of a big name company. Bright eyed, they put in all the passion they could muster, offering up a lifetime of hard work - only to be rejected with harsh criticism. What followed was deep melancholy, which meant that all equipment went untouched. Personal projects lay on the wayside. Brushes petrified, askew on the desk. Why should they create with no inspiration left? What is the point when no one will want to see?

But a droplet of inspiration survived through the love poured into their creation from so long ago, giving it life. While the artist slept the artwork picked up the slack on its own. Finished their linework just like they'd seen their master do it. They even colored themselves - though affected by their file being saved in CMYK format. Once completed it was off to the human world. Straight through the screen and into the bedroom they'd only seen bits and pieces of for the better part of a year. If anyone is going to help their master get their inspiration back, what's better than this? ...Is what they happily announced when the artist shot out of sleep, greeted by the greatest shock of their life.

EXTRA:

- They may look and sound human, but aren't. Plenty of human customs are lost on them and need some explaining.
- Can be rude by accident. They don't mean it, they're just blunt and don't know better.
- Affectionate. Maybe a little too much so.
- Has a deeper side to them where they'll drift off and muse over certain questions.
- If they hold an object long enough their skin will take on the color of what's in their hands.
- If they get injured, the wounds can be fixed by physically painting over them.
