A gift for =ChikaPika of her colorful character Kalani! Her colors are so much fun to work with, as well as her beautiful but simple design [: I've really admired her work for the longest time. I'm pretty sure you've all seen it already, but go give her a visit again anyways. There is always so much expression to all the characters she draws, and such a variety of unique poses. Keep up the great work Chika! ♥

Anyways, more experimenting in this picture! Tried out SAI for the first time, and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE that program. Its so easy to color in it.. or atleast it feels like it is haha. Definately keeps me interested. Coloring and backgrounds in SAI were a lot easier too. I think I might color like this more often, i actually really like how it turned out. Surprisingly, the only thing that gave me major problems here was the leaves of that palm tree ]:

And finally, I'll have to thank my sister for the entire idea for this picture. I asked her what I should draw, background and all, and she just walked me through the entire sketching process. Started out with an island with a palm tree (though the coloring for this was PRETTY FRUSTRATING) and umbrella, and eventually added a cat and turtle. Random... but it works!

But anyways, hope you guys enjoy this! ♥
