Rachel's mind was in a million places, the party, the blank minded gaze at the moon, what was with that unexpected howl?, and now... her nails? Rachel never used any of those fake long nails, so to see them with such length and definition shocked her more than it would anyone else, but maybe the extra shock comes from how rapidly they're growing, and how pointy they are. She thinks back to the experiment, no, it can't be, it was a fluke! But even she has her doubts, how else would she explain to herself the abundance of fur... fur on her stomach!? But no, she has more to think about.
Feeling as if someone was yanking on them, her ears stretched, reshaping. She also just noticed her teeth had changed as well, pushing her tongue against the inside, not recognizing the texture or shape. But how about one more thing to think about. Her nose felt like it was instantaneously broken, she didn't even want to think about what was happening to it. No one to turn to, no way to think clearly, all she could do is scream, scream as her skin is consumed by a plague of fur, scream as her face is ripped from her skull. Her brown hair serves as a reminder of what was once a delicately featured face.
