....A.K.A. Youko Kurama's "partner" A.K.A. the sexiest bat demon ever A.K.A. KuronueI love Kuronue for some odd reason and I have been meaning to draw him for at least a year. I figured that I would finally do it now in memory of my other Yu Yu Hakusho picture that I did a year ago, for the "character is" project hosted by *nillia on Kurama . (I never imagined that it would get that much publicity--Im coming up on almost 1000 favorites--but I guess everyone reeeeally loves Kurama so I should have seen it coming.)
In case you dont know who this is: Kuronue was Kurama's partner-in-crime back when he was a kitsune living in the Makai. Unfortunately, he is murdered in the middle of a heist when he drops his precious pendant (around his neck) and goes back for it. He only appears in the 2nd YYH movie when another demon takes his form and taunts Kurama about his death. (Here's an anime screencap for your viewing pleasure)
I think that he is the only person Kurama really ever cared for in the demon world, as either a true friend... or maybe something more if you care to read into it
, and he is the only other character then Hiei that I love to see paired with him in fanfics of fanart. 
Kuronue needs more love thats for sure. I really wish they would have shown him in the anime.Anyway the artwork is a little...off... I think. *sigh* I dont know. I didnt want to just leave another blank background like usual so I tried a photograph from a stock image just for kicks.
Tell me what you think. Too much background? Is it distracting? Not a good photo for this picture? Bad use of perspective on the arm? Color choices?

oh, and I think I prefer this newer background. the other one was indded distracting with the bright heavy realism behind an anime-style, dark colored character. *nods*
the blurred effect makes it a little more subtle and background-y as apposed to OMG TREES IN YEH FACE! D: ....my, don't I describe things beautifully?

So thats why i didnt recognise him. I like YYH but ive never seen the movies, just some of the anime when it was on adult swim and toonami and i read the manga. Im no good at critique. I like the newer one better and the only thing i can say is the same as what evo already did, the background seems to bright. If he worked with Youko Kurama he would have to be pretty evil, i think. Ill try to look up the movie, but my internet is slow.

yah Hiei was cool too but I loved Kurama... I mean a bishi red head who can manipulate plants, is super smart, turns into a kitsune, and who was a kleptomaniac in his past life... pure awesomeness

LOL wow well I would be prepared for the lack of recognition anyways--except for the really hardcore YYH fans--and I would love to be nicknamed "the sex" XD... because Kuronue totally is
and I think I would rather be a slightly obscure character and have hardly anyone recognize me yet still look cool... than to be an over-done character that everyone cosplays (and thinks Im a retarded otaku with a lack of imagination and creativity) and have there be more than one of them... such as someone from Naruto or Kingdom Hearts

That's what I think too really. I am just kinda sad about this year. I looked totally sexy in the cosplay. Like the outfit was better then the first year's and... NO ONE stopped and asked for my picture. I was a little crushed ;_;
