Wish I could own a bat but it's illegel and captive bats only live for about a year while wild bats can live for at least 20 years

Because bats lose their will to live and reproduce since they are social animals and can't live without being with at least a couple hundred bats. However, you could make a bat house and hang it up in a high tree near a water source
