Description
Half of my trade forShe is doing one drawing, but it is better, so I have to do two
As with all of my drawings, she can choose to have me send her the original of this
However, I *accidentally* (
) coloured on the original, so now it looks terrible, like this: [link] Karakasa is a Japanese Youkai that is a Chinese umbrella that's existed for so long it became a demonthing. A hundred years, to be more precise
The flames are called Hitodama and are people's souls
I'm soooo awful at backgrounds
I couldn't decide where to categorize this because it doesn't really fit anywhere... where do you put ghosts that are not horrific?

I don't think the background is so terrible. Neither do I think the colored version is terrible. I think you need more practice, like I do (and every artists I've seen, we never stop learning), but you are definetly getting more and more accurate and you have a natural talent for atmosphere. I like how you did the shades in this particular piece. You have managed to control the light and that, my friend, is really uneasy to learn.

Atmosphere is my favourite part of any art form (visual or otherwise), so I'm glad you find it to your liking in my own piece

The umbrella looks so detailed and cool! You may want to work on the trees and get them to contrast nicely with the umbrella, but besides that its great! I personally like this a lot!

Yeah, it is
About? It's about... the "Chinese umbrella thing"... he lives in a dark and gloomy forest... and he is being followed around by the little flameguys... he stands in front of the bridge every dusk to warn people of the forest's dangers... though he is usually benign, he will curse those who are impure and enter the forest at night...?
