Description
One of the earliest space colonies set up in orbit around the planet of Allusia, an island three type colony (similar to the one in the image found here for example [link] , minus the pink explosion.)

Babylon Zero was meant to be an orbital paradise and the centre of its sphere of colonies. Construction of the colony began in the mid 26th century of the Allusian Imperial Calendar and completed near the end along with the colonies of Babylon Two and Babel, which are also located within the colony sphere in orbit around Allusia.

However, in the year of 2698 there was a distress signal from the colony which broadcasting for for seventeen hours. Craft from Babylon Two and Babel attempted to reach the colony, however upon reaching the colony after the end of transmission, seventeen hours and thirty six minutes of the broadcast the colony went silent. The craft approached the docks and then disaster struck, the colony itself was ruptured from the inside by a series of explosions.

This left the colony heavily damaged and unstable, its own rotation ripping the colony apart, and coupled with the decompression killing millions within the next hour.

The remaining craft proceeded to recuse the few hundred survivors in sections of the colony that were sealed and a few spacecraft found floating nearby.

Investigations revealed that there had been previous explosions in the colony interior, and that the cities inside had been a battle zone prior to the destruction of the colony.

It is unknown however what lead to the destruction and preceding battle.
