This came from an argument between me (a die hard Lion King fan) and a Kimba the White Lion fan. Now, I have all respect for Kimba the White Lion and do realize that Disney did steal most of their movie from that, but I decided to justify my sticking to Simba through art.(Besides, I never even heard of Kimba until 2 years ago, so its kind of hard to make me dislike my childhood favorite)
Kimba the is the proptery of Osamu Tezuka.
Simba is the property of Disney.

I do love Kimba, but I would have to agree in the sense of aesthetics that Simba looks more like a lion cub. Although Simba has a more bratty personality than Kimba, so personality wise I'd say Kimba is sweeter. (Nothing against either franchises, before anyone jumps me just for expressing that)

.......Kimba is about 10x more adorable than Simba and I'm a true disney fan that actually has, and has seen, all disney animation movies.
I think both Kimba and Simba are awesome, but if someone says that Lion King is better when Kimba is far superior in both its characters and lessons, they obviously haven't seen Kimba's animation series (besides reading it on the very reliable -or not- wikipedia) or just have a weird (to be nice) dislike of japanese animation.

what a bitch move. it figures disney not only teaches their fans that 'it is okay to steal as long as you do a better job than the original' but it also teaches their fans to hold no dignity or respect for themselves or other people, or originals for that matter.

I Think Leo/Kimba i much cuter than Simba. I also know Kimba later but what i really like about Kimba is how Tezuka show all his life from born to deth (Somting that was canged in the original anime, but was showed in th 1997 movie). And i also loves all the Tezuka works because they leave you a message and besaides i like his sad style. (another masterpice of Tezuka is Bagi, you have to see it)
But this dont make me a Disney hater i also enjoy his work, but the classic ones like "The hound and the Fox". Simba is good but i prefer Kimba

When I first saw this, i thought at first you were talking about wether Simba was cuter than Nala, that is until i read your decription.
But unlike some of these people who commented on this, I'm not wasting my time agrueing to people about which one is better, I love both Kimba AND Lion King, and I admit, Since I have watched most of the episodes of Kimba seen the really fucked up movie they made after Tezuka died, Lion King does have so many things in common with Kimba, the only difference is that Kimba has a message that I loved and agreed with.
Not only that, most of these people who commented probably haven't even SEEN Kimba to know.
i seen it, i know and i love it.
Don't get me wrong, I love Lion King as well.
but Tezuka, He loved life and care about the animals and evironment and loved to draw, and thus, he is my idol

I wasn't really trying to bash Tezuka, since I have a lot of respect for Kimba.
But, since Simba was my childhood favorite, I can't really give up on that...plus, of the two, I do think Simba was just a LITTLE bit cuter.
Of course, the whole Simba/Kimba argument is all on opinion, I think.

but some Japanese guy?!i am so offended by this... you colud at least tipe in his name... it is Osamu Tezuka. his name is only on every kibma webiste. and you should remember that name. he wes a genious. he loved animation and he loved to draw and he was drawing comics until the day he died. and oh... he realy liked disney (he saw babmi 80 times). and it realy pisses me of how they stole his idea and didnt even thanked him for it. i hate disney! and the thing that pisses me most of is that they cut out the moste important part of kimba. the representation of conflikt beetwen animals and humans, because of people cutting the trees and destroying nature. and of course they killed the massage Tezuka dispaled through his all work: love all living creatures. +grauls+
