Description Watercolor, with Photoshop touchups. May ‘11.

Cirdan enjoying the sunrise off the Falas.

Somehow I imagine him Greek in looks and Scottish in accent.

Thank you! Can't say I'm 100% happy how the watercolor turned out, but Cirdan's awesomeness can't be diminished even by bad art...
Thanks again!

I've always thought that Cirdan would have a Scottish accent too!

This is a really good portrait

To be honest, the painting was modeled after Sean Connery as King Agamemnon in Time Bandits... so I imagine him speaking very much Connery-ish.
Danke!

Aww, that's awesome! Just imagine Connery playing Cirdan if they ever made a film or something of it!

This is a somewhat unusual portrayal of an elf...and I find myself returning over and over to look at it more. He looks rather weather-beaten like I suppose a shipwright would be, and so content, like one who has made a decision about his life (to stay in middle earth until the end) that pleases him.

I have a love/hate relationship with it... I think I want him to look more weather-beaten (sea winds, sunburn n all that), but this is only the first age, so he's got time enough!
Oh, 'Content' is the perfect word for the shipwright! (And he'd better be coz Forever is a long time to be in regret. )
Thank you!

Great! Cirdan is not painted very frequent, is he? So thank you as I' really love how you've done your job. I' also like what associations you used. I' just imagined him even older... But time passes, so this doesn't matter! Thanks once more!

No, I don't see many Cirdan paintings (unfortunate, that!) and fewer with beards (horror!).
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
