Homemade Apple-Cranberry Tart.

RECIPE
Apple-Cranberry Tart

Ingredients

5 Granny Smith Apples
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup honey
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup fresh cranberry sauce
1 pkg of puff pastry, thawed

Baking Instructions

1. Cook cranberries in a pot according to according to package instructions, set aside.
2. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples, pouring the lemon juice over them to prevent them from browning.
3. Coat the apples with the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
4. Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a sauce pan, pouring in the apples with the honey, sauteing over moderate heat, stirring occasionally for 7 to 10 minutes.
5. Stir in the cranberry sauce in with the apples once they are done, set aside.
6. Dust your work surface and a rolling-pin with flour. Rolling out the puffy pastry to form a 8″ circle dough.
7. Spread the apple-cranberry mixture over the pastry, leaving 1 inch boarder to roll and push up the edges of the pastry.
8. Bake in the center of a preheated oven to 400°F (204°C) for 30 – 45 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. Turn the cookie sheet once during the baking time to allow for even browning.

* Makes about 4-6 servings;
** Cranberries can be replaced with raisins (that have been pre-soaked in water);
