I have a feeling that maybe and I'm just thinking because I could be wrong, that Miroku was her once past lover who supposibly died. Kagome probably didn't want to have another guy in her life and was unable to open up to people, that is until Hiei came into her life. Now she gives Miroku her last goodbyes and that she will move on and be happy...
At least that's what I think.

Kagome looks very pretty in this. I think this pose really worked to show her moving forward, but still looking back with both happiness and sorrow.
