Kickle Cubicle is one of my favorite underrated NES games. I plan to dedicate a piece to one game like this every month.STORY
"The protagonist Kickle wakes up one day to find his homeland, the Fantasy Kingdom, turned to ice by the Wicked Wizard King. The King has imprisoned the people in Dream bags. Only Kickle was unaffected. Kickle sets out to save the kingdom with his special freezing breath, which he uses to turn the invaders into ice to use against his foes."
The 4 characters surrounding Kickle are the bosses. The chicken is Koke, the clown is Piro, the turtle is Kapan, and the snowman is the Wizard King. What I find interesting about Kapan is how he is portrayed. The box art would have you believe he is a kappa, but when you fight him he is clearly just a turtle. I chose to draw him as a kappa because I think he was meant to be one.
