Finally, I managed to paint a self portrait that actually (kind of) looks like me!

I painted a similar portrait of my mother, but with dragonflies instead of moths and a red rose instead of white. I chose a white rose not only because roses are my favourite flowers, but because the white rose is a symbol of purity, which is actually the meaning of my name, Kate. I also used moths because I like to use them in my artwork. They symbolize metamorphosis in a similar way that butterflies do, but they’re nocturnal.
