Being told he's the heir to the throne gave him a massive ego boost, constantly thinking he's better than other creatures due to his importance. Of course, that feeling soon faded away when he realized the tension between the Crystal Empire and his kingdom worsen. The queen was worried about this situation and ordered that he begin some prince and knighting lessons, in case the two kingdom go to war, which really scared him. Princess Cadence and Queen Skystar both came to an agreement that will remain peace between the lands. An arrange marriage between him and Aphrodite, even though Aphrodite isn't the heir to the throne they couldn't arrange a marriage with Flurry since she was older than Area and was already married as well. So, him and Aphrodite had to arrange dates with each other to get to know each other, Aphrodite was extremely upset with this decision but choose to have their dates in a forest, which is where he met Agape. He realized that both Aphrodite and Agape had a strange bond, he would even say that they both have romantic feelings for each other.
He soon visit Griffonstone, to gain an alliance with them, just in case Aphrodite couldn't go through with the marriage. Gilda was the spokes creature for the griffons but told the young prince that he could talk to an apprentice, and if that griffon enjoy their time with him that they can consider making an alliance if a war breaks out. He soon fall in love with the young apprentice, she as well fallen in love with the prince. He knew he couldn't go with the marriage and ask Aphrodite if she felt she couldn't be wed to him, to his surprise she said she was ready to marry him. Which made him plan to runaway after the wedding, just to be with the apprentice.
