Description
I don't remember how it happened, but a few days ago, I had the urge to try using coloured pencils again.
I feel that using coloured pencils is one of my weaker mediums, the other being digital art;
so I made sure to watch some speedpaints and look up some tips before I started colouring.
So have my Kuroko's Basketball OCs and Haikyuu!! OCs in coloured pencils. <83
I was originally planning on adding chibi plushies or something with their love interests, but Mari doesn't have one.
So with the KNB girls, I just drew Ayaka and Mari in their usual poses.
For the HQ girls, I wanted to try something different with their love interests.
So I tried to draw their representations.
Tsukishima was easy with Tsukkigarasu.
Fukunaga was tricky, because he doesn't have a cat version like Kuroo and Kenma do, so I drew him as a Maneki Neko,
since he's based on them.
Hanamaki was the most difficult because of Aoba Jōsai being represented by plants, and they never had chibi
symbol forms. Especially Hanamaki since he's underrated. So I looked up for translations of his surname which apparently means
"flower scroll" and his full name apparently translates to "noble flower roll".
So I just drew him as a scroll with a flower print with his face on and matching his hair colour.
I mostly just wanted to try coloured pencils again, don't mind me. <8)
I did struggle to get their skin tones right though, because the pencil set didn't have many colours for potential skin tones.
It's an old discontinued cheap set, but I want to practice with them and hopefully improve on them before I use my actual artist quality pencils.
I actually liked how the colouring of the characters' hairs turned out before I blended with the baby oil,
but I don't think everything else looked as nice without the blending. Maybe I should try to make a comparison pic?
