Zisa, a tortoiseshell apprentice of LeafClan, awoke from her nap in a dark place. She looked around. She was in a shadowy forest, and there was no one around. Suddenly, she realized where she was.

"Place of No Stars..." she murmured.

Suddenly, a voice behind her said, "look, tigerstar! we have a visitor." Zisa spun around to come face-to-face with a brown tabby with ice-blue eyes. Fear overcame the young apprentice, and then she noticed a dark shadow appear on the tabby's head. Zisa slowly turned around again to see a bigger, darker tabby with burning amber eyes.

Zisa gulped. "Wh-Who are you?" she asked, trembling, although she knew the answer.

She had heard tales of the bigger tabby. How he murdered cats and killed Bluestar, the former ThunderClan leader, by bringing a pack of dogs into the forest, where ThunderClan used to live. Now Zisa and her clan LeafClan lived here. Her leader Leafstar's former home was destroyed, so she moved to ThunderClan's old territory.

And Leafstar had also told her and her sister Tori about the ice-eyed tabby. How he helped his father in his plans to rule the forest.

"Why, you know me." the bigger tabby said. "I am Tigerstar. Leader of ShadowClan, murderer of cats. But that was all in the past."

The younger tabby walked around Zisa. "And I am Hawkfrost, Tigerstar's son."

"Zisa," Tigerstar said. "You need to join us."

Zisa was taken aback by the offer. She couldn't join these cats! They were evil! And if Tori, her sister who just so happens to be a medicine cat apprentice to Leafstar, ever found out about meetings with Tigerstar and Hawkfrost, she would hold it against Zisa until she was an elder. But, on the other paw, Tigerstar and Hawkfrost probably could teach her how to be a better warrior and teach her moves that she could never learn from her mentor, Squirrelfrost.

So Zisa said, "But.... I can't be with you. You two are like demons! and.... besides, if my sister and Leafstar and Squirrelfrost found out about it, they would kick me out of the clan!"

"But you will get stronger, and won't need friends or a clan. Tigerstar said.

Zisa thought for a minute. Finally, she said, "Ok. I'll do it. I'll join the Place of No Stars."

Tigerstar nodded his approval and said, "Good. We will start training tomorrow night." Then he stalked away.

Before Hawkfrost followed him, he said to Zisa, "And by the way, its called 'Dark Forest'. Not 'the Place of No Stars'."

Zisa walked away, now regretting her decision, thinking she was working with demons, and now she will never be forgiven if anyone else found out.
