if it's aired on tv, and/or online I'm pretty sure the permission is implied.

That's really informative,
I honestly don't know that much when it comes the specifics of laws.
but if you scroll down to the last question on that page it says "On the other hand, if the use does not compete with the original, for example because it is a parody, criticism, or news report, it is more likely to be permitted as "fair use."" wouldn't demotivational posters be counted as parodies or criticism?

It is not a point of view. Patent and trademark laws can get complicated, but copyright is very clear. Almost all of the material aired is copyrighted hence the notices in the credits.
Copyright is owned by the creator, when the work is created. Publication does not void that. Slight alterations don't void the copyright. Giving credit does not mean the material can be used, nor does not charging. The chacters are also copyrighted, and Viacom has been known to go after fan sites and productions.
Just because something is commonly done, or a lot of people believe something does not make it legal. All of this is on the copyright site for anyone that wants to look it up rather than going by rumor.

By the way, have you shown this to the man who inspired this work?

I don't know how to contact him.
However, most web hosting services allow one to view the websites that the most hits come from. If enough people visit his site threw my DA page, he'll likely come and figure out why he's getting so many visits from there.
That's pretty much the only way I can think to do it...

It's a plan. A shaky one, but a plan all the same.

Ohh, the chuckles. Too funny. The visuals are funnier than what you described (but then again, I think I was distracted at the time). Oh, Paramount and their um, stupid, copyright deals. Why can't they loosen their grip on the license and let people make a couple bucks off some stuff.
By the way, I watched a couple minutes of the Star Trek episode of CSI: "He's dead Jim". Hah!
