As you know, in my recent Sonic reboot project I replaced Scourge the hedgehog with two other evil Sonics. The First was Friction. Now we have King Sonic.

He is based on the King Sonic from Sonic the Comic, whom was a one-off character. In that he is an alternate Sonic that turned evil. But that is where the similarities end.

This version of Sonic, after being de-roboticized after the events from Mecha Madness changed for the worst. The Prime Sonic overcame his shame, learned from it and became better, this Sonic had let that time get to him, both his shame at being weak and the fact he secretly enjoyed the extra power given. Slowly becoming more distant and violent, he would finish off his native RObotnik for good. But Robotnik's final words said that there was no freedom in his death, in that he is an ideal.

This Sonic agreed. Robotnik may have been a big threat but he was only one man, aided by others, several whom willingly followed in. At that point this Sonic knew that Robotnik was right and only thorugh brute force and conquest the world can be united and at peace, and took over as the evil dictator of the world.

This version draws inspiration from Lord Drakkon, an alternate version of Tommy Oliver, the Green Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, from the Boom!Comics whom also turned evil. He was a great inspiration for this version of King Sonic.

LIke Drakkon, he would start a campaign to conquer the multiverse. He sees his other heroic selves as weaklings; But my version of Prime Sonic told King Sonic teh truth:

"You felt helpless, out of control, though you secretly relished in the added power of being Robian Sonic. I admit I may have felt the same at the time. But once I was back to normal I became more determined then ever to save the world. While you, you gave up. You claimed your friends held you back, you claimed wanting to leave weakness behind, but you gave in to the dark, that is not strength.

My friends are not my weakness, they are my strength. They also keep me in line when I am being stupid or brash. They are my form of control. And those without control are not really strong are they? The name 'Sonic' was given to me not because of my speed, but how I used it to stand up for other people in need. And in that regard, you don't deserve to bear that name."
