Well, to be honest. The 2003 Turtles had the best designs for the Turtles.
But these are very good designs, better then most of the ones I've seen.

Thanks. I tried to put a lot of thought into them.
Probably I'll be keeping the voice actors from the 2012 version as well, for Leo his original voice Jason Biggs...in my mind at least.

It makes more sense splinter being a mutated human martial artist then a mutant rat copying martial arts.

I know. Sorry 03 but Nick Turtles gets a point for Splinter origin story.

Voice acting, art style, and splinter origins...and the rat king. Still can be counted on one hand.
I personally thought a younger April was a good idea, allowing her to connect better to her fellow turtles. Though I wonder why they had to insert the half-Kraang subplot in it.
Could be weirder though, in the original mirage comics April was revealed to be a living drawing created when her dad used a mystic crystal like that artist Kirby, only with a pen instead of a pencil. I know this because I'm a geek

03's tied with voice acting, wins in art style but Nick Turtles wins the other two.
I dunno either because Nickelodeon seems to think that a "normal" character in TMNT is an anomaly.
OK what?!

Three...out of about fifty categories.
The most normal is Casey Jones and he is not completely right in the head (he has a metal plate in his skull, that may explain it)
Yeah, the Mirage comics pulled a lot of weird crap as well. And a lot that'll blow your mind.

Yeah.
Casey has a metal plate in his skull? How?!
I'll bet.

The 2012 version of Casey has one in his skull. We can see it briefly as he is being electrocuted by an ancient chinese sorcerer spirit (don't ask). Knowing how reckless he can be and is already missing his front teeth, you can only imagine where he got that.
I'm going to adapt some mirage stories loosely, or at least the ones that haven't been referred or used in any other media yet. Term is 'loosely'
