Description
Took a little break from all the chemistry and tried re-drawing this animation sequence.
loved the movement in there~
It’s at times like this when i feel bad for not being able to study art and animation (maybe it wouldn't be so wonky if i could). Well, i guess chemistry is just as good? :/
Finishing this took way longer than i thought it would, but i hope you guys will like it~

This is a very well made animation! I love how even though the background is in a different style it isn't jarring us out of "scene" you created, and works well. Every frame of his expression is A+, not only is it just really beautiful with your art style, it's also nice looking because of how well you transitioned from frame to frame, making the expression change almost completely smooth. Unfortunately it looks like the farther from the face it gets, the less love it received. The hair is very nice, the tuffs keeping "shape" as they turn while his head goes back. The ear, however looses it's shading at one point, but while people might think the slight over animation in the ears, such as moving around "too much," as a bad thing, I actually find it cute and charming. It sorta adds a bit of character to even just his ears, and makes me oddly giddy.
However, as someone else mentioned, the one shoulder does do a slight "spazz" and almost refuses to hold a consistent shape, unlike the face, which I have to admit I love every about. Right down to the nose and its' shading, you did an amazing job on that face. And now my favorite part, the eyes. I love how you mimicked a complex shading style in cell shading, and somehow gave them depth and the shape of them gave them sassy-ness. I love the vibrant colour, and while of course that's more to the credit of the original designer, I still love it a lot. Also, while we can't see his eyebrows, that didn't stop you from showing emotions by messing with the lines of his mask. I just love every frame of his expression, I can't stop watching it. Overall, I love this animation, and if there was a show made in this exact style and attention to face consistency, I'd watch the shit out of it.
Sorry, this got a bit ramble-y, I feel, but it's so beautiful, I can't wait to see more.

Although it's not really creative overall, I liked how you added extra head movement to him. It adds more life to his gesture and expression.
Since you've used grey, it's easier to see the mask and lines compared to the original. But as you said, this is rather wonky, especially compared to the original. So many of the lines move and disappear even when he is still; this is most prominent at his right shoulder, neck and hair.
However, it doesn't really impact the viewer much, being distracted by the wonkiness and all... Unless they really like Chat Noir.

Good job! You chose a very good character to animate (because let's face it; we all love Chat Noir.) Unfortunately, even with a perfect character, the gif just fell short to match his perfection. To be honest, it looks a little bit choppy (that could also be because of my computer. Do you ever just despise your computer so much that you want to throw it out the window? Because that's how I feel with mine. But hey, computers are expensive, so no.) By the small chance it's not my computer, however, I'm throwing it out there. One last critique: Chat's shoulder near the end did a bit of a...I dunno....spazz? For a few frames it was near the end and then rose back up to its original spot a bit too quickly. It looked like he was trying to shank someone with his shoulders. It would have been better to leave it near its original height the entire gif or to keep it down the entire time. Onto the good things now! Your consistency was very good-I didn't spot any errors with that. You also did a very good job catching Chat's smugness, too, which the lighting and coloring helped with, too. All in all it's a very good piece of art; some minor mistakes, but nothing too bad. Keep drawing, and I look forward to your next artwork!

I know this sounds like a cliche, kid, but follow your heart. If it's chemistry (and there is NOTHING wrong with chemistry; it's beyond necessary, in the world, it's vital), then do that. If chemistry doesn't give you joy, but art and animation do, go do the art and animation! I know there are practical considerations, but by all that you hold dear, find away to keep art and animation as an active force and practice in your life. DO NOT walk away, thinking you'll get back to it later - either that will never happen or it'll be too late when it does. Trust me on this. The world affords us little real joy, in life, and tries to strip us of what we do find. Find your joy and follow that, even if it just ends up being something you only do after work and/or on weekends. Study art and animation as much and whenever you can. If that drives you and you don't do it, you can look forward to a lot of bitterness and regret. It might not make you a lot of money, but money's nothing next to joy.
