Description The Lonely Moor
Something a little more dark this time. Why is she all alone on the open moor? What has put that wary, edgy expression on her face? There is a story behind this image, but I'm not going to tell you what it is. You have to find your own story for it.

I've wanted to do a centaur for years - one where the anatomy actually works, and the centre of balance of the human torso is firmly over the front legs. My centaur has not one but two spinal chords – to me that’s the only way it could work. I've tweaked the anatomy of the horse a little to allow for the absence of those thick neck muscles, to adjust the angles of the front of the chest, and to make her just a little more delicate. The humanoid elements are made from several shots in the same Elandria series, with some fairly major alterations to colour and also some serious re-tailoring of the dress.

I never thought of a centaur wearing such fine clothes, but, the more I look at this picture, the more I like the idea. I also love that you worked out the spine problem. Would it be ok with you if, at some point in the future that I decide to write a story involving centaurs, I give them two spines?

I really like the mood it captures, and the way it all fits together. Great work!

This is a very good manipulation! The horse and the girl are very nicely blended together. Looks so real - looks like one picture(well yeah it is but... you know what I mean? )! And the background is also beautiful. I've tried to make a centaur-manipulation but I've never succeeded. It's not the easiest thing. So congratulations!

Thanks so much for this. I think the trick to making centaurs is to have an idea in your head about the anatomy. I have a picture of the bones and how they are fitting together, and that way I can tell where the muscles go, and how the torso should be angled. My centaurs have two sets of backbones not one - to me its the only way they canpossibly work without falling on their faces all the time

My version of the story is that she ran away from something, maybe someone that wanted to catch her or kill her. she looks fraightened too. and the small tower might be her only shelter..

Thank you. I saw that look of distrust and fear in the models face, and wanted to put her into a setting where that could be part of her story. I think you are the fist person to pick up on the unquiet feel in her face and pose, and you've made my day

Wow! I'm glad. I usually come up with theories that are far away from what they could be. But it's great to hear this time it wasn't nonsense XD yaaay

I usually hate centaur photo 'manips because for all the details you explained above people don't pay attention and and it looks terrible. This however, is not only beautiful, but it's *very* believable! I think it's the first centaur 'manip I truly like

Fantastic Job! I hope you do more

I am positive I'll be making more centaurs. I'm working on a couple of other things at the moment, but playing with horses is always fun!
