I can imagine all the shy glances and nervous laughter on Drift's behalf. As for Rodimus... he's afraid to touch and doesn't know what to say. He's afraid that if he touched, Drift would shake him off. He's afraid that if he said something, Drift would turn and walk away.

I like this interpretation!
My original idea was to put a speech bubble between them that says "So much" and the viewer can put their own idea in about what he said before that.
