From the Lioness Quartet Series by Tamora Pierce. Those books were such a defining part of my childhood
I recently reread them and had to draw a picture of her. The perspective with the sword is a little iffy but whatever.
I tried to give this picture the feel of an illuminated manuscript because it seemed appropriate.

Nice- defining part of your childhood, eh? You're not the first. Or maybe you are, I'm sure you were before me XD What I mean is, you're not the only one.
They're quite powerful books, aren't they? I would like to write books as impact-full as those, with characters as memorable.
Your rendition of Alanna seems unusual, I can't quite put my hands on how. Maybe the hair is fuller than most draw it? At any rate, I like it. (:
