Description Whoop, another long-overdue tutorial! x_x

Hopefully this is helpful. I ran out of ideas for what to be doing with the tutorial by the end, so I just kind of... stopped. xD;;

Not much to say about this one.

Ideas and methods and stuff are mine.

OH MY GOD.
Thank you so much for making the text along paths tutorial. For years I haven't been able to figure out that I needed to get into the paths dialog box and figure out what I was supposed to do in there. *facepalm* Finally, I can curve text!

Thanks! It helped tons! But there is a red outline around the text on the last effect thing.... I dont know what you mean by "hiding the path"

This is so helpful, especially the bit at the bottom for putting text on a curve.

What does locking a layer do?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kiza-San In reply to Temperance-Demure [2010-12-24 16:45:12 +0000 UTC]

It makes sure that when you color on a layer, no color goes anywhere but on what's already there.

Like, if you have a big circle already colored on one layer, and don't want to color outside the lines, you can lock the layer and even if you color outside, nothing will appear anywhere but on the circle.

Oh I mean Path to Select, sorry!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kiza-San In reply to glomdi [2010-05-08 12:52:57 +0000 UTC]

It should be in your tool dialog box - the section of GIMP that changes every time you click a new tool. If you have it in tabs, the picture in the tab will look like whatever tool you have selected - in this case, the paths tool.

Sorry for bringing this up again but I finally got around to trying again. Which part of the tool box is it in? I can't find it in the text or paths one. =[

Kiza-San In reply to glomdi [2010-12-24 16:25:41 +0000 UTC]

OK, when you have the paths tool selected, go to the tool dialog box. The tool dialog is the one that changes depending on which tool you have selected - you have to make sure the paths tool is selected otherwise it won't work.

After that, it's just a big button at the end of the box.
