This image by KizukiTamura has many interesting aspects regarding photographic rules and composition! I will try to point these out as part of my critique.
The image is made of different patterns which are contrasting very well with each other. We have triangles, circles, squares etc. Together they create a surreal image which lets us forget about the simple, one dimensional surface on which they are painted. The main focus (eyecatcher) for me is the lower area which has not only strong contrast in shapes, but also in terms of brightness. Naturally my eye is drawn to the brightest area.
The composition is very well balanced, the whole tonal spectrum is covered and the patterns are cut in an interesting way. I think it was very important to exclude parts of the circle on the lower end of the picture, because this gives a very compact composition.
I also want to remark that this work might certainly look well as a t-shirt design!
Overall a good example of shapes, contrasts and the use of the square format!
