Description

I realized today afternoon that it's last day of month... uh... I didn't had aquarelle paper or access to tablet (I'm moving all furnitures in my home and most of things are packed in boxes out of my current reach) so I had to use colored pencils ^^' but as you can see it's not my medium at all...

[I decided to not complain to not waste space here for negative thinking so I'll leave this diseaster without comment >__>].

I think you're doing great with colored pencils. Flowers and foliage are very tricky things to draw accurately and you brought them to life!

Thank you . It was so much different from watercolours ^^'. I'd like to try again this media in future again when I'll find a while and patience... But I'm happy that you like it. Thank you .

Such a beautiful illustration! An interesting approach to the task. I like the way you put emphasis in your work, using the lines to highlight the main thing.

Thank you . Yeah, lines are something I feel well and I should using them more often I think. In painting the most challenging for me on begining was lack of these lines XD. But I can mix lines and paints . And that's my current aim to become really good in that .

Oh...I was living in a lie...I thought that you had to do your artworks in watercolor. But then I remembered...the group is not restricted to watercolor medium only.

Oh, sorry to disappoint you ^^'... I really couldn't in that moment use aquarelles. But I'm going to paint it again with aquarelles this time, just need a while .

From my side I also lived in a lie making assumption that if that's your photo you'll participate in the challenge XD. Where is your artwork... o.o...? (Remember that you can paint and submit anytime you wish if you'll decide to try, only rule about dates is to not publish before end of month, after is ok ).

I really didn't have time...I'm working on an acrylic painting right now...which doesn't seem to end Can't wait to finish it...it's getting more and more boring.

For now I just know that I will HAVE TO take part in one of your future challenges...at least 1. Next one...can't promise though.

Flowers are really hard to draw with pencils, I tried once and got too pissed to finish  You did a lovely job! Yellows give a gentle touch , and the light &shadow work really well!

First of all pencils are so different than aquarells XD. They need to invent a few new tricks for them (and it was hard to draw pink flowers without any pink pencil XD).
For the second... yeah, it was hard with pencils. My hand really hurted after that XD. Aquarells are faster but less forgiving.

Well I'm good with black pencils ( I have to be, because we learn graphics first at art academy) but the colored ones just drive me crazy  It takes too much effort and time  to blend the colors for me. I prefer mediums that involve water ^^

I really like this, I never think of just using coloured pencils, I love the freshness of the leaves, and all the colours you have used in the flowers. I really struggled with this one ans really didn't want to post the hash I had made, but it's all about trying something new and taking elements of each of the others to improve my painting/art and I shall certainly be incorporating elements of yours too! Well done, don't be so hard on yourself! ☺️

I don't have many colours (professional pencils are so expensive >__> and one needs far more of them than paints).

I think that I overdid with flowers a bit, they are too dark, but using neightbour colours from colour wheel makes them acceptable I think... Still I should listen to my own advices and use blue for shading XD.

I'm really really happy that you posted yours . Just treat it as start point. Whatever next you create it probably will be better . I always keep my old artworks and when I'm upset with my drawing level I compare my current with previous and it's impossible to not see a progress. I don't like my attempt of February challenge too but I just treat it as something to compare with my next ones . I've learnt really a lot from these challenegs, especially that I should keep working with linearts. I made this one without any pencil sketch, just pure ballpen. It would be a waste to exclude such skill of such trained hand from painting only because aquarellists don't use linearts. I'm going to work on such style to include linearts. I wouldn't discover it without these challenges and comparing my artworks with others, especially that first time I noticed elements of linearts on your artworks and I thought "why not try it too ?".

Ah, a completely different treatment, restrained and elegant!

Thank you . I prefered to draw anything with pencils than none, complaining I don't have aquarelles at the moment (now I have again and I consider painting it once again with aquarelles, just need a while). But it was interesting experience to try with pencils. Maybe should draw with them more often?
