It's my entry (entries) for The First Brigade contest organized by Galder 
I've chosen to draw Prophet as I really like how she looks like and when Galder told me more about her I liked her even more
I also composed music theme for her (that's my second entry). I added it as backgroud music in my process video

All I can say is wow! I love your style! The soft shading with the thin clear lines looks so cool, and on the birds it really makes them look like they're glowing!

I spent many years adjusting it. On beginig it was totally stylized and abstract, but then I gradually started adding more realistic stuff and so far I achieved this one

I wish that I draw more often and learn faster. In my head still is war between my ink lines style and realistic view. I'm struggling a lot to mix both, but I hope that in the end I can achieve something really good! Just need to practice far more

For long time I couldn't decide for colour set, and when I did I couldn't match the right colours (green and green is a huuuge difference ^^'), but with some layer filters and some yellows it finally worked ^^'.

Or maybe she reflects the light surrounding
The whole scene is making me wonder what is happening.
Not just a portrait but like we witness an important moment.

I struggled a lot with lighting as you can see on the video ^^', but finally I found something what makes sense
I had on my mind idea that Prophet forsees something important what involves these weird birds, but she can't figure out how it is all connected
I really wanted to draw a whole scene (you challanged me with your entry ^^') so I also wanted to add there storyteling ^^'.
I'm really happy that I could keep level not lower than my previous drawing, however on beginning I was really disappointed with the result. Just in last hour of work I put it into right direction and it's not that bad. My ink lines helped ^^'... seems I'm just unable to draw "normally" without them... XD

Well, it came to great effects
Indeed you found a good midway in the use of colors here, not too dark.
I think the quality is great.
It doesn't matter if you have to search and experiment a bit on your way
Nothing wrong with that and to be honest, it is with me as well that it is the last moments spend that often make things really happen
Having a recording helps I think to remind yourself of the way reaching it, having some appreciation for your process apart from the end result.
Looking back at it probably makes it clear that the disappointment was not so just
And hehe, well those scribbly scrips lines are integrated with you I think XD

Yeah
Experiments are fine, but they take so much time! If I skip this part I'd finish 5x faster. But since I'm still learing doing my stuff I'm unable to skip it - it's part of my learning process. But I'm glad that I was able to finish within 2 days. Spending longer on drawing makes me tired with the same drawing and I usualy don't finish it or totally destroy with changing it over and over. Also really helps me not expecting perfection. I still expect a lot from myself, but I've learnt to forgive myself mistakes as long as I finish the drawing and it meets my minimal requirements like this one
And yeah, the video helps a lot, especially if I achieve something by accident and then I'm struggling to achieve this effect again. On begining being recorded really stressed me (even if I know that I can edit the video later because it's not life transmission), but seems that I'm geting accustomed to it and ignore this fact. Just red icon reminds me that screen capturing is turned on
Also watching my video a few times (especially 80x faster than in reality) I make in my head a list of unnecessary steps I'm going to skip next time and tricks I should have involved sooner in my process. My main conclusion from this one is that I should incorporate my ink lines far sooner not tryig to achive realistic view. I can head it of course, but decorated with my lines. Especially that they so nicely hides imperfections XD.
