Today marks the 9th anniversary of My little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and the final episodes of the series are this Saturday. And I’ll admit I haven’t yet seen the most recent episode from last Saturday, but I did found screenshots of Lyra and Bon Bon actually proposing to each other, they are a canon wlw couple! Well it seems they gave her the traits of a lesbian character. Not only does she have a rainbow colored mane she's also a complete tomboy with a masculine voice. Im not saying lesbians are tomboys but it seems Rainbow is made to be the kind of character you expect a lesbian to be. Also she had a wing boner in the episode Over a Barrel when she saw Pinkie Pie in her saucy outfit.

Although Lyrabon is a very beloved ship in the fandom, it seemed to me that they went a long way with it being a canon, however dear this ship is still fanservice. There was no need for another homosexual couple already having Scotaloo's aunts, and at least they have reason why their orientation is fine, while Lyra and Bon Bon, as I said before, was a fanservice that went far.
Although of course, I understand that it was now or never and the writers took advantage of the fact that the last episodes were just coming.
