Description
Rostronairs are not free to make. You must have permission directly from me in order to make a rostronair. These prompts are only for those with a rostronair who has been accepted by me.
There are 3 seperate storylines you may choose from. Each storyline has 3 prompts to complete. These prompts are ment to be a little challenging to push you out of the regular comfort zone. Quality over speed. Take your time building your story and telling it through your artwork.
(All images must be fullbody (perspective will be taken into account), colored, shaded, and with a complete background. Adding a bit of writing to your entries is highly encouraged! But not mandatory.)
Once finished, link your three entries in a comment on this journal!
- storyline option A: Part 1:
Word has it there are strange findings scattered around the world. Ancient monument sites, some right in plain sight. Others, lost and forgotten in the deepest places of the world. Rumors drifting about a pale Rosto who can shed its skin to take the form of another. Most are skeptical. But somehow you wonder. If there was such an ability. Is it the workings of magic? And if it is. Do these monuments hold the key? If this pale rostro was the first. Whos to say you cant be the second? Whatever your reasoning for seeking it out. You decide to try. (Draw your rostronair embarking on a journey to search out one of the few monuments left standing. Did they pack anything with them? Are they crossing the desert to get there? Or perhaps have to head over a dangerous mountain pass? Perhaps they have asked for directions from other rostros of the area? This journey is not for the weak of heart, so be sure you are ready.)
Part 2:
It has been a few days since you embarked on your quest. Wild predators, dangerous routes, and worst of all evading the eyes of man. But finally. After all of this trouble, you have come across a stone path. It is worn, and seems far to old to be of modern make. That, and there is no other rostro or human clans living within a few miles. This has to be it. What you have been looking for. Quickly now you race along the path. Its winding road guiding you until you reach the precipice. And there it is. After all this searching. You have found it. Just as was discribed it is a cicular courtyard of cobblestone, and at the end, a dilapidated statue monument of your ancestors. Oh to have seen it in its full glory. You approach the statue, looking up at its sheere size, and think. How to unlock its secrets. (Draw your rostronair finding the monument or unlocking its secrets. Did the delve into a cave and find it underground? Perhaps it was hidden within a desert oasis? Or at the peak of a high mountain. Did it respind to their presance when the touched it? Or perhaps they made an offering to gain its favor? Magic works in mysterious ways they say. (This prompt is ment to spike that creativity. How you depict your rostro unlocking the secrets of the past is up to you! Was there a glow of magic? Did it hurt? Did they hear voices of the past? The experiance is unique for each rostro who have dared make the venture)
Part 3:
As the secrets are unlocked and open your eyes you no longer feel the presance of 6 limbs. 2 feet planted firmly on the ground while only 2 arms sit freely in air. You have done it. Found the secrets. Proven the rumors of the pale one. Unsure of what to do with this newfound ability, you strike off. (Draw your Rostronair in their human form (human forms may show some rostro traits if you wish, but be careful to hide these infront of other humans and rostros!) Are they at a loss for words? Do they panic? Or are they overjoyed? Whats the first thing they want to do now that they have a human form? Are they going to visit a busy market? Maybe try to learn human speach? Walking on two legs is alot harder than it looks, are they clumsy at first? If they dont have a tail to balance how are they holding up? (Time for some good ol people practice. My favorite oof.) After completing these prompts you have now unlocked a human form for your Rostronair! Feel free to make a referance for them or update your rostros original referance with an image of their human form if you want.
- storyline option B:
Part 1:
you have found yourself in dire straits. Never did you think this would happen. What started out as a wonderful day ended in sadness. And by the end of it you leave your clans home to grieve on your own. (Draw your Rostronair at a pivotal moment in their life. Is their clan home being attacked? Are they defending it? Perhaps a loved one has passed away and they are at the ceremony of passing. Or a natural disaster has struck and they need to rebuild? Regiardless of what is happening, show your rostronair struggling in the moment.)
Part 2:
Your life hasn't been easy. Perhaps because of the loss of a loved one. Or worse, the destruction of your clans home by man. Reguardles of the reason. You find yourself wandering aimlessly now. Alot on your mind. You have often visited a particular place. Its odd stone structure and the worn statue strangely enough giving you comfort. You decide to visit it. The pouring rain washing through your coat as you near its base. Quietly you nestle your head against its leg. All hope seems lost. And comfort of sleep drags you to the statues feet to curl up until morning. (Draw your rostronair at a moment of grieving or feeling like giving up. Did they curl directly under the statues feet to seek shelter from the rain? Or perhaps decided to accep its downpour and stay in the middle of the courtyard. If its a desert nation, do they find the rain odd? What are their reactions. (Heres some practice at drawing emotion through composition and/or facial expressions!))
Part 3:
the sunlight hits your face. Disturbing you from a rather uncomfortable sleep on the hard stone floor. It has been a rpugh night. But you figure you should return to your clan now, as they might be worried. Slowly you attempt to get to your feet. But something seems off. As you stagger forward and attempt to brace yourself with your arms you find youself only flailing 2 around. In a panicked moment of shock you give yourself the one over only to realize that you yourself have the body of a human! What do you do now?! (Draw your rostronair waking up from their rather uncomfortable sleep. Are they in shock at their new apperance? Did some of their clan memebers come to find them only to spot a human? Are they schocked? Did they try to attack you? Perhaps they were stuned when you spoke in Rostro tounge! Do you know how to switch back?)
After completing these prompts you have now unlocked a human form for your Rostronair! Feel free to make a referance for them or update your rostros original referance with an image of their human form if you want.
- storyline option C:
(Not all rostros want a human form. In fact. A majority want nothing to do with man. So here is an option for you!)
Part 1:
You have heard of this rumor of the pale Rostro. One who lives neither of man. Or of your kind. Weather through truama of mans cruel past, fear of the unknown, or vengance of their kind. You are proud of what you are, and detest that someone would even believe such false rumors. Ha. What nonsense, saying a Rostro could become a man. Have they no pride? Reguardless. Even if this was a just a rumor. You would put an end to it. And destroy the ancient monument. (Draw your rostro sneaking out of their clan home to find the monument grounds. Are the skilled in stealth enough to sneak around even their own kinds keen senses? Perhaps they march out declaring their ideals? Did they pack the right tools for the task ahead? Did anyone try to get in their way and stop them?)
Part 2:
You have arrived. The monement staring you down as if preparing for battle itself. Wind whips past your feet as you stratagize the best way to go about this. Perhaps you should simple take off its head. Or maybe completely crushing the stone would be a safer bet. It is time to say goodbye.
(Draw your rostronair arriving at the monument or destroying the statue. Does the environment help you at all? Do trees or clifsides make it easier to brace against and push it over? Perhaps you brought some good tools with ypu to break it down or chisel it away.)
Part 3:
upon finally bringing the statue to the ground you laugh. But soon. Your laughter becomes quiet. What started out feeling like great achievement now feels rather ominous as the broken pieces of stone seem to glare back. What is this? You wonder. The wrath of your ancestors? Or the wrath of mans? You take a few steps back. But it is too late. And something invades you.
(Draw your rostronair being surrounded by the ancient magic of the ages. Does it glow in an errie hue? Does it wrap around their limbs like smoke? Or pehraps it takes on the shape of something else. (Time to work on those special effects in your paintings!))
You have now unlocked heterochromia! Your rostronair bears the sin of their destruction through one of their eyes. Making it glow slightly in the dark, and mismatching your natural eye. Will this bring upon bad luck in the future?
