Paradise Road"Paradide Road" as I have named it, is actually Highway 72 outside the Town of Ward in Colorado. Sawtooth Peak takes the skyline as the Autumn color comes alive. This whole scene kind of came out of no where and was just jaw dropping in ways I can't begin to describe.....the white highlights on some of the trees is snow...most people prefer sunny images in Autumn, myself, I love it when it is cloudy with weather, it adds a whole other mood and atmosphere to a photograph!

Lovely composition.
My imagination and my spirit try to follow the road and go beyond those mountains.
The wonderful tones and colours of the trees are perfect and they just match perfectly with the white mountains at the back.

I will go I want to do Colorado and the Grand canyon - both places that call to me. First I have to recoup from my trip to New Zealand. Now there is another really beautiful place.

Yay! I used to live in Ft. Collins and my family would always go up to RMNP to see the aspens and hear the elk bugle.
I go to school in Hawaii now and really miss having autumn and winter. thanks for the little piece of home!

I don't mind the clouds either. They give different mood to the autumn photos and the contrast between warm foliage colors and cold clouds can make a photo more dramatic.

Great shot, John. The contrasting colours are lovely, I like the way that the road leads you into the shot, and the mountains are nice and sharp. I agree with you that somehow this wouldn't be so effective with a blue sky!
