Peace In The ValleyMoraine Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
Surrounded by professional Nikon wildlife shooters, I started to watch the light change to the warm glow of the evening..luckily I had my gear beside me so switching lenses to shoot a landscape from shooting wildlife was easy and I sat and took this all in. Light like this you just live for when it comes to photography, and I was pretty excited when I was shooting this. I bracketed it in 4 shots and did an HDR through Photomatix. Pretty darn natural looking HDR huh? I am really happy with this shot and how it came out. Sitting here shooting and listening to the Elk bugle was akin to paradise! Hope you all like it!

Hanging in there, they are talking some pretty heavy snow here this weekend, so I am going to try to head up to the mountains on Monday and do some shooting, air is so clean then. Depends on the roads though! Where about in Nevada did you go?

Went to Valley of Fire, Whitney Pocket, Hobgoblins' Playground, and Cathedral Gorge. Some great stuff around Vegas, but no one seems to go out there much -- I guess everyone heads up to Zion. Bryce, and the Grand Canyon.

Valley of Fire I hear is just amazing, and yeah I have no idea why people always skip those areas, but I suppose it kind of makes it a lot less crowded then

This is seriously the most amazing photo I have ever seen. You've got one set of true mountains then a second set of cloud "mountains." It's the juxtaposition of the two that make this such an incredible shot. It's like I can't find the words to describe how much I love it.

Thank you, the mountains seem to have stark majesty there, I (as you can see on my page), am used to the gentle ripple of the tree laiden Blue Ridge Mountains. They are very different but both amazing.We really like not-touristy places (unless it is absolutely worth it.)

I can imagine our tiny blip was a massive snow storm near you guys! Haha... NM can suck sometimes... I hope you make it down here for the winter! Another great place you would like it Taos! They have a pueblo up there that is supposedly beautiful.
