Sunflower SoftnessWild Colorado Sunflowers set the stage for something that I haven't done for a very long time, intimate floral photography....and this time I thought that I would do something a little different and give it a very retro look and feel, personally, I like to experiment with my images and processing, my train of thought for this shot was take things one step farther, not just capturing what it is I see, but also give it a sense of emotion, a sense of feeling, a sense of memory, a photograph that would evoke an emotional response.
Processed in Lightroom, and Photoshop, Focus and Bokeh provided by my Tamron 200-400mm lens, let me know what ya think!

Beautiful shot John. Great post work on it to. I love the soft blurry feel to the background flower and how it shows off the sharp details of the front one.

They don't get much better than this John - the colors are soft and warm -- and the blurred sunflower is the background somehow seems protective of the "little" foreground flower. Someone is looking after this flower - you have told a story and not just showed us the beauty of Colorado. I'd love to see more of your close-up floral photography.
