About the photograph- Photographed yesterday morning at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. "Compression landscapes" (as I call them) are something which I love to take. Basically the process involves using a very long lens for landscape photography, think the sort of lenses one normally uses in wildlife photography; 400, 500, 600mm lenses. Often times you see things which the naked eye doesn't. I originally shot this scene with my 18-200 lens and when I zoomed in I saw something I thought would make a really interesting image with my 500 so I went to town and took several different images using different compositions. This is one of teh end results here. Had some unique lighting to work with for a few minutes where the mountains were lit up along with parts of the trees while the sky was rather dark creating a sort of surreal scene. Fun stuff! I am just glad the Arsenal is open again, anxious for the Deer rut!
