I've only been there once so I couldn't say, but I guess it's a common phenomenon. It was a very rainy day, and the mist was definitely there ! So I guess it's entirely possible the moutains could be completely obstructed from the view, if this is what you were asking

Ah, I see.... So lucky you got to visit that place at that time.
I have a favorite phenomenon of low hanging mist coasting above treelines,
it's as ominous as it is stunning. =] Thanks for clarifying!
