Nope, but something of this artwork's quality might be worth alot of money, so is the money worth the pain? Also, you got alot of satisfaction for this piece. Is that worth the pain? In addition, I think you raised you own bar for what you are capable of drawing with this work. Is that worth the pain? I think that when it all comes down to it, it is. It's all worth the pain.
That, and you're hopelessly addicted to art, so it's not like you're going to stop for any silly old pain.
...and cinnamon. You're hopelessly addicted to cinnamon, too, But, there's help-groups for that kind of thing.

Well, to be honest, I'd say this most recent piece is Daily Deviations material. If I had the power, I'd suggest it, but I don't know how.
... and yeah. At least in America, there's help groups for everything. For eating glue, random cold-sweats, even for people who are afraid of long words! (that particular phobia, by the way, is called "hippopotomontrosesquippedaliophobia". How wierd is that?)

They haven't revisited the movie yet, but I haven't forgot about it! Actually, the person who has the movie is moving in RIGHT NEXT DOOR to my apartment, so I'll be able to do that movie recon for you!
...and on that note, I suggest the movie "Equilibrium". If you liked Hellboy, and UNderworld, you'll enjoy "Equilibrium" too! The action scenes are so cool, and I love the setting... it's kind of like... have you ever read "1984"?

Well, I really love equilibrium... after I saw it the first time, I almost re-wrote the combat rules for my RPGs! I also greatly enjoyed Donnie Darko, and I get enormous satisfaction out of showing other people the movie, and finding they love it, too. I call it "Spreading the Gospel of Darko." That movie is a real mind-screwer. The first Matrix was groundbreaking in story and style, but the rest of the trilogy could have been done way better. By me. I also love the movie that me and my film-bound friends made over the summer, "Elevator," which I wrote, acted, and did the lighting for. (it should be ready for release by the beginning of next year!) Underworld, I agree, was great, and the "I just cut off your face" scene in that movie was better than Equilibrium's.
But, I'm not just limited to dark action. I love "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". I also suggest you see "Army of Darkness," even though it's not quite one of my favorites. It's just got so many great one-liners, and canned quotes that you can slip into conversation, to test your "movie-savvy" friends.
Otehr movies I would rank really up there: "O Brother Where Art Thou?" and "Ocean's Eleven" (George Clooney rocks), "Swordfish", because I love that characters, "Bow-finger", for it's poo taste and hilarious scenes.

Just to say it again…thanks god someone who likes and knows the same movies as I do.
It’s just that people call me crazy or freaky for watching/knowing so many movies. (I have over 500 movies at home ) Because I hate romantic stuff I love action/fantasy and Sci-fi, people tell me I’m not a “real” girl. This is mean by the way!
And they kind of make fun of me for knowing every little detail of the movies I saw…even years later.
It’s not my fault if my brain remembers movie stuff and not…”important” things.
Anyway…back to the discussion
You are so right…”Donnie Darko” is a gorgeous movie, although half of my friend didn’t understand it As I told you already “Underworld” was great, I just didn’t like the Werewolf’s…they looked a little bit off don’t you think.
The movies I saw the most so far are “Dogma” (I’m so in love with Alan Rickman…this man is great!) “Sleepy Hollow”, “8mm” …ahhh there are so many. I adore Star Wars (The old one…not the crappy new films!)
“One Hour Photo” was great as where “Seven” and “Unbreakable”…Did you saw “Wilde” The Oscar Wild biography? This on is really good!
I watched all Comic film versions, but they are seldom as good as the comics. “X-Men” was great, “Spiderman”and “Hellboy”,too…”Hulk” and “Dare Devile” where terrible and I refused to watch “Catwoman”
I’m babbling aren’t I?
Sorry Tell me if I talk to much
I have seen so many movies I don’t know what to tell your first I saw all the movies you mentioned above of course. Apart from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail” I have even have them on DVD So I think we have the same taste in movies. I found a movie-friend!
Jesus…this will be an endless list, so I will stop here
And tell me when I can watch your movie…would like to see it
P.S. Which are the worst movies you ever saw? My worst movie experience was “28 days later” That was the worst horror movie I ever witness so far. We went to see it in England, after they made so much fuss about it on Brit TV (the biggest horror movie in years, you will quiver with fear, your stomach will turn and so on) I really considered to leave the cinema if I hadn’t paid 5.60 pound for it

Oh... worst movie I ever saw...
Well, the worst movie I DIDN'T see was the "Blair Witch Project". Just the previews made me motion-sick.
The worst movie I've ever seen... I don't know if it's the worst, but I really didn't like alot of things about "Queen of the Damned". IT's not really a bad movie, but the effects they had for the vampire's super-human speed looked really hokey, like the stuff they do on TV. It really detracted from the action scenes. There were some really good redeeming things, like the music, which ROCKED, and a few scenes which I think were really well done. I dunno. Not a bad movie, just one that's not my favorite. I'm just grasping at anything right now...
...worst movie ever...
"Road to Perdition" was just one of those movies you only need to see once. It left me feeling so empty, and frustrated. Not perticularly bad, until the end. Good production values, good acting (Tom Hanks is my favorite actor), BAD closure. (on the lines of 1930's movies, "Untouchables was REALLY good. Sean Connery is awesome.)
Ah. I have it now... "La Chubacabra". It's a movie my friend got at a yardsale half a year ago... it had a decent CD case, and cover, and it had an okay summary on the back. It was supposedly a chilling horror movie about the mexican version of a demon monster, the Chubacabra... It's one of those myths of the hispanic people, and everybody knows it. Well, in short... it looked like it was made by a guy with a camcorder, with a VERY low budget, and... ... it was sop horrible. The "actors" were so self-conscious of the camera, and they were so BAD, it was like the director just asked his family to be in this movie he was making. The monster was a guy in black clothes with a mask, and later, a semi-elaborate puppet. The music was canned, standard music for horror movies... Really bad horror movies. After a few minutes, I begged my friend to turn it off, and eventually ran up and did it myself. It was SO BAD, it instilled fears in me about the quality of all independant movies, like the one we were about to make at that time, "Elevator" (this was before the summer began, and we were in pre-production). I was afraid our movie would be as bad as "La Chubacabra". In that way, "La Chubacabra" was the scariest, most unsettling movie I have ever seen, but not in the way the director meant it to be.

That new DreamWorks film is called "shark's tale", or "A shark's Tail", or something like that, with will smith as the voice actor... anyways, I haven't seen it, but like everyone's said, it's not supposed to be very good.
Or wait... forgot about Intenational Film lag. Are you talking about "Finding Nemo?" It's about the clown fish, and I think there's a shark in there called Lenny, And one called Bruce.
Anyways, my favorite Sci-Fi flicks? I'd of course have to rate Star Wars as the highest, but it's not the only one on my list. Alien was CLASSIC ( ), and I modelled much of what we put in our latest indie-movie off of the special behind-the-scenes features in the most recent release of that movie. "Space Oddysey, 2001" was very revolutionary, in that it was a successful Sci-fi movie BEFORE star wars made the genre a blockbuster hit. Some of the Star Trek movies have been pretty good, the best of which was definitely First Contact. So many good things to say about that one. Even though the rest of the world hated it, I didn't think "Battlefield Earth" was so bad. Call it wierd personal tastes, but it was definitely a movie made BY science fiction geeks FOR science fiction geeks. Men In Black wins the prize for best sci-fi comedy. Pitch Black was okay, but I haven't had a chance to see the sequel, "The chronicles of Riddick".
The Lord of the Rings trilogy counts as sci-fi, and those have the best production values of any movie EVER, and for that, they win my respect and admiration. Very well-made movies. In the fantasy department of Sci-fi movies, I am also looking forward to "The Wheel of Time" series, which will be coming out in the next few years... Ohh, I can't wait! I've even got some production connections with the future art-department, so i may even be able to be a part of it! (the wheel of time is a fantasy series written by Robert Jordan... very worth the read, but but the books are very long, and there's about ten of 'em, roughly 800 pages each.)

Ahhh…you don’t believe how happy I’m to find something with the same film taste…that so good
“Sharks Tale” was okay…I could laugh a lot, you just can’t compare it to “Finding Nemo” The movies are so different, and “Nemo” has no Lenny
It has so many little things I appreciated a lot…and…oh well…see for yourself
I have to say I only watch Alien after one of my best friends told me so much about it But now I love them. We will go and watch the “Alien v. Predator” next week together (it comes out on the 4th November over her I hate Germany!) Did you see it already? Any good?
My dad watched all the old space movies with me, when I was little (he is a Sci-Fi Fan like me) And I like “Abyss” the most, but the Odyssey movie is great as well.
Pitch Black is one of my favourites (I like Vin Diesel…VERY much) The sequel is good, it has no story, but the effects and the different world are great. Wonderful design! And its so cute to see the excitement of Vin when he talks about the movie. Just like me when I buy a new comic )
LotR is like Star Wars without concurrence. I love the movie…went to premiers and watched the part countless times To my shame I didn’t read the books, I just can’t find a way to read them…I quite after 122 pages I normally read 2-3 books a week, but LotR is a big can’t do book.
I’m not sure if I know "The Wheel of Time"…can have another name over here. Will look into it, and big books are good book, keeps me longer busy
Just want to know…do you know any German movies? Are the US showing some? We have 3 or 4 good ones

I must say, I've seen a few foreign movies, and some I even liked (like "Amelie" from France, which is a wonderful movie, if you can stomach cute and artsy drama), but I have never seen a german movie. The closest I've seen is "Das Boot", a movie about a German U-boat, which I think is mostly from fact. A very good movie, that one. It's Dutch, I believe.
And personally, Germany doesn't have it so bad right now. You may be a little behind in the movies (I haven't seen it, but Alien v. Predator is, I am told, very good), but at least the rest of the world doesn't have a "little brother" issue with your country. America is a little too pushy to make me feel comfortable about my nationality outside my own nation. Europe is a very interesting place to be right now, I am learning. I forsee a future where Europe has unified, and as a whole, is much more powerful than America, militarily, and economically.
Oh, and when you read books, say, the Lord of the Rings, are you reading the original English versions, or the translated German?

Mhh, I think “Das Bott” is a German movie…at least most of the actors are. It one of the most famous movies here, that went overseas and where actually watched by your people
“Amelie” is one of the only romantic flicks I like, but more the style of the movie. It’s rather different and the music is so fabulous! (I’m a OST whore…have hundreds of OST CD’s at home)
Otherwise I avoid romantic movies. I just can’t stand the happily ever after, everything is okay, just hug and kiss everybody stuff in that movies. My (female) friends get really frustrated with me sometimes, when we can’t find a film to watch together.
But well…a lot of people tell me I’m more boy than girl anyway and that just because I like computer games, computers, action/sci-fi/horror movies and other “boy” stuff.
Well I don’t thing you would enjoy Germany either; sure I don’t want to live in the US at the moment. We have mean problems as well…but nobody looks at us like they look at the US. You won’t believe me how much they show here on TV about the election…somebody would think we can choose a president, too
After living in England for a year I have to say I would really like to live there again. I liked my work and loved the people! I’m a little bi English now!
It’s so different to Germany. You have to know, most people here (at least where I live) are rather…grumpy…you see seldom people smile or laugh in an “open” place.
For example…when a friend and I go into town or to a authority, we talk, laugh, make fun and smile a lot, consequences of that is that people turn up their noses, sneer at us or just shake their head in a “god are they annoying” kinda way.
People in Germany just don’t like each other. It’s properly the reason I dislike humans in general. I’m getting bitchy and bark out rather mean comments when I’m in public and people annoy me. So you see…every country has his down points.
Enough about that.
I read only the original Version...most of the translated German stuff is crap. I stopped reading German books 5 years ago and never regret it You can’t read David Sedaris or Poppy Z. Bride in German…it’s just not the same.
I even tried to read a Russian book ages ago I read only 10 pages and gave up
Do you speak another language? England is ignorant to other languages…I only met 2 people who could speak more than English. It was Shocking to me!

About our election, I've always wondered about that. It's cool to get an angle on your contry from somone else's. I bet you guys know more about what's going on here than most of us! IN fact... i bet if the Germans were allowed to vote for our president, you guys would have a higher voter turn-out, too!
I took two years of Spanish, which is becoming a fast-growing population here in america, but I stopped before the course got into the really hard-core work. :/ It is true that in America, and the other English speaking countries, next to nobody is bilingual. The thing is, we don't need a whole lot from directly from foreign countries' cultures. As you've said, we make our own movies, write our own books, put out our own entertainment... so there is no incentive to speak a language other than English. It's a really arrogant way to go through life, but hey, that's a Capitolistic Republic for you.
My sister, however, speaks Spanish quite well. She could actually go to a Spanish-speaking country, and survive. She will also be studying abroad in college, and she's headed to a German-speaking country. She'll be taking a crash-course in Germany for two weeks. She was considering going to England, but she opted out. I may go there myself, someday. Sounds like a nice place, and nobody really has a "Death to the English! Jihad!" complex right now.
And as for myself, I may not have a second language, but I do speak this one damn well, if I do say so myself, and I am an excellent writer as well. So, my mastery of this one language may make up for not having much diversity. I've always been impressed by multi-lingual people, though, and I'm sliently ashamed of my inability to speak more than one.
...and... ... I'm curious... How much of my ramblings do you understand, fluently, without a dictionary or something? It's just been something I've thought about a bit, recently. Do you understand all the words I write? Most? Enough to fill in the blanks? I'm probably just fretting over nothing, but the English language is supposed to be one of the hardest languages in the world to learn. :/

That's awesome! ... about the thoughtless translating, I mean. I've always tried to envision something like that. Must be fun up there in your multi-cultured brain.
Here in America, they let you vote at the age of 18. This is good, because, like there, I just don't think 16 year olds know a thing about politics. I'm 17, and I don't even think I could make an educated decision. There's a few small interest groups who want younger teens to vote, but nobody listens to them, and most people don't even know they exist.
...and as for our voting population, well... Let's just say that individuals in America are smart, but when you group all of the individuals into a mob, they are collectively stupid. Democrats and Republicans hate each other for the same reasons, and both sides say the other is running a crooked campaign, while convincing themselves that their own candidate is pure and right. It's just... all wrong. Oh well.
About electronic voting, I too feel like it is a risky way of handling our election. I like paper ballots. If something went wrong, there was a physical master of the vote that you could check. With electronic voting, however... all it takes is a good hacker. Once data is deleted and replaced, it's like as if the real votes were never there. There's no way to check authenticity. That's scary. :/
You know... I'm not quite sure what form of government you guys have in Germany, as stupid as that must make me sound. We Americans are generally internationally ignorant, and I'm not up to the post-WWII era in my advanced European History class. You siad that German 16 year olds can vote... on what? Do you guys have a president, or elected representatives, or something?

nobody told me I have a multi-cultured brain before
You will doubt I have a brain when I explain our politic system to you.
Okay…were do I start.
We are a democratic country. We elect a party which stands for the things we want. For example the SPD or CDU (They all use abbreviation).
Each party has a chairman/woman and at the moment everybody in Germany things the guys are idiots
They are separated in “left” or “right” parties.
Left parties normally stand for environment help, foreigner friendly and are a heity deity happily ever after parties (at least for me) They like to talk thinks happy after they happened.
The “right” parties are more…mhh…Germany orientated. They like to talk about pension, jobs…well money in general. The more extreme “right” parties are really foreigner hostile and think really Nazi like…its sad people voted for them. That’s a reason I’m ashamed to be a German!
But have one thing in common…they love to talk…and talk only .cries:
Okay…more informations.
You know that Germany has federal states just like the US, right?
Each state elects their own party and even then every city elects again…we are a big electing group, but only 30% go and actually vote for someone *LOL*
Every 4 years a BIG election decides who will become “Bundeskanzler” (Federal Chancellor)
At the moment is Gerhard Schröder…he is like our president. Then there are different men for each department, like military, education, environment and so on (just like in the US)
They are chosen by the party and not us…at least I think so.
I hope I got it right…at least the main point are okay…I think
I’m not so educated in politics. I don’t vote and apart from social studies I never showed interest in knowing more about it. It’s so complicated and at the end all parties fail at the task they promised people.
Wee…writing with you keeps my writing English healthy *lol*
The main difference is that we don’t have such a big, colourful show before elections. Sure, they plaster posters everywhere of stupid looking politician, but nothing near as big as what American president candidates do. I always ask myself what I could do with all the money spend on US coloured confetti o_O
I wouldn’t vote for someone just because Bon Jovi or Arnold speaks for them. (And I laugh myself stupid hearing Arnold speaking English…they synchronize his voice rather nice in movies and not with the Austrian accent )
Sometimes I have the feeling that everything in America has to be a big Hollywood show.
I didn’t hear everything about what Bush or Kerry actually want…they make it their gaol to bring the other one in disgrace…sad really.
Ohhh well...they bring “Fahrenheit 911” on TV next Monday...maybe I will understand your system then
You take European History class, that’s cool. I loved history class myself, although in my last year everything we talked about was Hitler.
And now my head gives off smoke it’s past midnight and it’s far to late to write/ explain German politic…hope you understood me a little. (sorry for spelling mistakes)

Thanks for the run-down on German politics! It's really interesting to see how things have developed in the after math of WWII and the occupation of Berlin and whatnot. What's really amazing is that it is so much like the American system, as for as the two party system, and what the parties stand for (although there's no undertones of Nazism over here :/ ).
As far as our own system of publicity and all... i can't say it's one of the things for which I am most proud, but, hey, it's America at its heart. We're all about show, and entertainment. Have you seen "Chicago?" Even though it was supposed to portray the 20s or something, the message is still quite applicable to today's America. "Give 'em the old Razzle Dazzle" (one of the songs, it's a musical) sums this up, by basically saying that if you show people a good time, and tell them what they want to hear, you'll win their support, whether it's deserved or not. We're all about the Razzle Dazzle in America; our country's politics are one big show. And... Farenhiet 911... That's Razzle Dazzle, too, so just in case you actually were expecting to get a candid glimpse at American politics, it's a perfect example of left-wing propoganda.
European history is a very fun class for me. I have a very interesting teacher, because he always relates everything in class to something hapening in the world today. His favorite things to draw comparisons to are the war in Iraq, and President Bush, who are appealing targets to him. He, like most of America's teachers, is a democrat (The left party). My family is very Republican. Being able to get brainwashed by proponents of both parties at once has made me a very politically balanced guy, because I've heard all the positive and negative things about each of them.
Honestly, I don't care who wins the election on Tuesday... our country is still in dire straights, whether at home, or abroad.

Sure. When it's noon at Grenich mean time (spelling?) what time is it over there? I just want to know so I can figure out when you reply in American time.
I have one question for you, one that I thought of rather recently... I've heard you complain of how long it takes to release things in Germany, as far as movies go... Have you tried shopping online? I'm sure that as soon as an American movie comes out here, it goes up online the same day, at places like Amazon.com, and whatnot. If you buy online, you may be able to circumvent that four to six month waiting period, and be on the same movie-schedule as everyone else.
And it is nice to know how German politics turned out from you, becuase I doubt we'll get that far in our European history course. This is all pretty recent history, considering the course started in the midieval era.
so... you're 23, and a Graphic Designer (according to the lovely ID on your page! )... how does that work? If the economy going downhill there, and the job market is slipping fast, how do you maintain a cash flow in the arts industry? What exactly do you do?

Whenever I want to use it for anything artsy, I have to clear part of it off. Its not uncommon to see me huddled with my work on a tiny 1 foot by 1 foot clean spot, just big enough for a piece of paper! Talk about back pain...
