I love this series soooo much, although I haven't read it in at least a year. I have only just now picked up the newest book, if you can believe that (no spoilers, please!).

Anyway, I felt like drawing Nicci but couldn't think of a good scene. I asked my friend ~MudstarMord-Sith for suggestions, since she loves Nicci. She suggested one of the scenes she herself had already drawn, and so this picture was born.

This is the scene from Chainfire, right after Richard digs up Kahlan's supposed grave and begins to think he has nothing to live for at this point. He stares out at an abandoned Aydindril and contemplates jumping to his death. That's when Nicci stops him and convinces him to continue fighting for what he believes in, even though she herself doubts Kahlan's existence.

Sorry the title sucks, I don't know what to call this. I think I have been improving lately artistically, though, so that's been fun. I am really happy with how Aydindril turned out. I won't say it turned out better than I imagined (I always imagine something so much better than what I am capable of) but I will say it turned out better than what I thought I could pull off. I'm pretty pleased with Richard and Nicci, too. Except the hands, which I still fail at and usually just try to leave undefined so I don't have to deal with them!

Can't remember whether Richard was actually wearing this outfit or not. Don't have time to search for that detail. I forgot stuff about his outfit, anyway. Like his bracers. And those were important And was he still wearing the Agiel at this point?

And as for more minor details, I prefer Richard with shorter hair than this. But I doubt he's had time for a hair cut recently. Anyway, I don't think it was very long because the wind "ruffled" it when he was contemplating jumping, rather than whipping through it like it might have done if his hair was long. So... I put too much thought into this stuff. But I never heard of long hair being "ruffled", so he's got short but scruffy.
