How do you make something your icon?

Well... First you go to your profile,  when you place the computer mouse cursor on the icon, you will see a tiny pencil or pen on the right corner .Then you click  on the little pen/pencil to edit, after that you click " upload image" . 
(It almost the same way you edit the  tag line/personal quote)
