Ayumi smiled cheerfully and waved to her fellow trainees before leaving the dojo's main hall. She followed the short corridor to the changing room, humming some joyful melody that stuck with her since the last party with the gang. Kyudo lessons were exhausting - but made her so happy!

Smooth wood of the bow in her hand, the rush of excitement and adrenaline when the arrow connected with the centre of the target... It was almost poetry. Plus, when practicing, she always seemed to come up with fresh ideas for her stories. She briefly considered giving up writing at after Mari's 'game' had made her 'come out' in front of her own heroines... But with Mari and Tammy seemingly cool about that (well, the former more than the latter) and a new hobby found to vent out any resulting anxiety, she decided to stick to writing. What was more, she felt like she already had an idea for a continuation of the latest arc...

She entered the empty changing room, the polished wood pleasantly warm under her bare feet. She was on her way to her locker, when an unexpected sound, not loud but clearly audible in the silent room, distracted her thoughts. A delicate flutter of wings, all too familiar to her, came from just around the nearest corner.

"Ardis?" half surprised, half amused, Ayumi approached the source of the sound. Would her fairy flatmate really follow her all the way to the dojo? Well, Ardis was a bit crazy, but stalking her so far away from home seemed quite radical, even in her case...

She heard the wings again, much more clearly, just as she was about to peek around the corner. Grinning, she took the final step, bringing the visitor into view.

"Got you!" she exclaimed... and froze, surprised to see who was waiting for her.

It was a fairy indeed, one that could even be briefly mistaken for Ardis - they had the same kind of dragonfly wings sprouting from their back - but it surely wasn't her friend. That other fairy's face was a bit more slender, her hair much longer and having a teal hue instead of violet one. The outfit also differed; instead of translucent tunics Ardis usually wore, that fairy was clad in a knee-long, navy blue robe. A pair of laced sandals completed the set, leather straps contrasting with olive skin.

But the biggest difference was in the way that other fairy looked at her. Instead of Ardis' playful curiosity, those malachite eyes were filled with... contempt? anger?

"Found ya" the other fairy tilted her head and snapped fingers - a gesture Ayumi was all too familiar with. Blue sparks zapped between the digits, an unreadable expression on the fairy's face...
