Description This is a shot of me (left) and *PoldalleLovesnare (right) in our costumes we wore to the Bristol Renaissance Faire today!

We're portraying our wood elven characters, Aralyn Equi Oumryn, who is a mounted archer (sans horse here of course!) and Poldalle Lovesnare a ranger/bard. They're a couple, so we thought it would be fun to go as them both this year for the faire! It was SO hot outside today, but man it was worth it!

Bristol rocks!

I made my hat, bracers and boot covers myself! I picked out the fabric/trim and designed the costume/clothing pieces though, then had a seamstress make them for me.

Ah, Aralyn...you are not Jake Sully as apparently Shiz is, but you are RobinHood-PeterPan-Link lol!!! awe well...what can we do At least his guesses made more sense than Shiz as Avatar


This is definitely one of my fav shots we got for the photo shoot Simple type poses but pretty classic adventurer stances, if I do say so myself hehhehe

And I like how the costumes did turn out looking together too not just on their own I love you being my Aralyn!!!!!

I had a blast too hun! I want to wear these costumes again if we are able to go to DragonCon together sometime. And I'm also glad you liked the costume and having me on your arm.

I liked being on your arm when you were Shiz too lol this was just a bit more appropriate hehehe and yeah if I CAN go to Dragoncon I'll definitely want to do Pol n Ara there ^^ especially since hers is the most "official" character costume of any I've got And maybe then I can think up better comebacks for all your/Ara's darling "sweet nothings"

And yeah I had to wear a wig cuz my hair just wouldn't work for him and I'd hate to cut it off, dye it red and curl it just for one day! It was pretty hot, but I'm used to it for the most part because of all the drow costuming.

He's pretty much a ranger, but he tends more toward hunter/archer for a more exact description. ;D

Dude, your costume is truly epic, I am in love with the wig. Copy-pasting Cari's comment, but yeah, I love Robin Hood too and that's immediately what I thought of on seeing your outfit, particularly that sweet hat. Which is even more awesome because you made it.

Thanks very much! The wig was a PAIN to style! I spent a whole day curling it. And I'm glad you like the hat too! It was a labor of love as well. I finally had to put wire in it to get it to stand up right. I got called Robin Hood a lot at faire. But I took it as a compliment!

Haha, I'll bet it was! I haven't worked much with wigs for that very reason, though when I cut my hair I might have to if I start doing more cosplay.

The one good thing about the wigs though at least is that after you style them, you don't have to do it again other than to fluff and clean it up a bit after wearing it! I recommend wigs wholeheartedly! Aside from their initial styling, they're awesome!

Your costume looks great and I love how Robin Hood-ish it all looks lol that's great. Robin Hood was one of my heroes growing up. Where did you get the bow?

Thanks hun! I got called Robin Hood a whole lot at the faire! I took it as a compliment. The bow is actually a movie prop from the Prince of Persia movie set! I bought it from a prop graveyard shop online. I'm so glad you like it!
