it was one of my first times really trying to achieve
some level of realism

I just tried to draw an apple. So... I came on here for inspiration and saw this... its amazing... so I kept it up for any shading detail ideas. After a while I saw that mine didn't resemble the quality so I looked at your other pictures... and now I realise why xD
Best works with a pencil. And I now have a vaguely OK apple

i think for me what has helped is to just keep working on a piece
and when i think im done
i put it down and when i come back i always notice something i didnt see before
then i work some more
sometimes i luck out
sometimes i suck.
this site definitely has helped me with inspiration
if you look at all the things i have favorited ( i dont think
thats a real word) it is ridiculous. i cant stop.

Im sure your bad pieces aren't bad at all. My friend drew a puma she actually tried really hard... the art teacher laughed at it. It was quite funny actually but very harsh. I love favouriting things!
